  1. I only believe in science.
  2. Not Grand, I recognize the shoreline, definitely California. No bass like that in OK, just little fish. No need to move to OK for the fish, waste of time.
  3. Yep. No bass here in OK, just minnows and bluegill.
  4. Got a registered envelope from American Express via FedEx 30 minutes ago with a new card and a letter saying someone out of state tried using my card # to make a purchase. They blocked the purchase and voided my card. Now I'm scared to order anything online or use my card anywhere, crazy world.
  5. Does a bear....never mind. If you can afford it, yes.
  6. I see this magnificent animal standing at the same rock outcropping every morning as I'm leaving the wildlife refuge.
  7. I get the same thing during the week from folks going to work and I'm on my way to the lakes. Just wave and smile.
  8. You too. Army kept me in shape through age 40, but when I stopped the morning PT it didn't take long to put weight on. I went up to 210 before I took corrective action. Now I'm back down to 175-180, 54"c and 32"w, feel great! Weight training, rowing, biking, and diet. When I report to the "Last Roll Call" I want to report wearing my Dress Blues.
  9. That's a wall hanger! Frame that picture!
  10. I do my Ninja twice a day with apples, carrots, spinach, and banana. Keeps the arthritis at bay and my abs visible. (The old woman likes that.) Although it doesn't look very good, it taste great.
  11. That looks like a nice lure, however, I prefer a glide bait not have a dive lip and one that swims deeper.
  12. It can be done, but there is some time intensive prep involved if you want the paint to last. You need to heat the surface with a heat gun or other source (don't melt the plastic) until you see a shine develop on the surface. (This is the fixer that is added during molding, it needs to be removed before applying a primer.) Wipe the fixer off with a soft cloth and alcohol, repeat if needed. (Don't do this around the heat source!) Once the fixer is removed from the surface you can spray the primer on. This same method can be done when applying decals to your yak.
  13. The bite was good between 2 and 4 a.m., but I was soaked from the humidity. I wish you folks up north would send some cooler weather this way.
  14. You need to get one. The Northern Perch is a good producer too. I had one, but I lost it to my son who has yet to return it.
  15. Enjoyed this. That young man fishing with him is a good guy too, good red fisherman from Houston. I like how Brent has the bottom of his reel marked.
  16. You know you've mastered the stroke when you can cruise right by a bass suspended just below the surface and he doesn't make a move.
  17. I think the MS MJ Herring is my favorite. I wish they made it in MS American Shad, but I've yet to see one. I think the finish holds up rather well, the lower one pictured has 5+ catches and so far only has the blemish on the gill.
  18. This article from Kayak Angler Magazine is a very good read. Thank you @Glenn for allowing me to share it. https://kayakanglermag.com/tactics-skills/strokes-techniques/skills-how-hunt-fish-stealthy-paddling/?fbclid=IwAR3Gjy6yufh-jnMrwl2erSZ-_BA2cB_BqiK8H1YWN0WK9W0j4X_RbjzaTKY
  19. When they're not biting on anything else...
  20. This makes me so mad, I better leave this thread before my blood pressure goes up.
  21. By golly, I'm going after some trophy bass!
  22. I sure hope not! I do good just trying to keep the old woman in the dark. (Just kidding.)
  23. Oh, how true this statement is! I've really enjoyed reading this thread, I hope it continues.
  24. I use to use this stuff back when I used a bass boat, but with a kayak I just turn those bleeding bass loose and hope for the best. I have to figure out a way to use this stuff again, but on a kayak. Weigh-in bag maybe? Throw an oxygen tab in the bag and hang it off the side long enough to treat the fish?
