Just spending a little time revisiting old threads (this being one of my favorites) because you never know when something someone has posted will "pop" out at you. The above sentence is found at the end of a reply posted by @WRB 7 years back, and as I re-read it, it seemed as though I was being slapped on the back of the head. I was taught this some 30 years back by a local hometown fishing legend. We were both throwing jigs from his boat and after a couple hours and a few fish, all landed by him, I asked him what I was doing wrong. The old timer smiled at me and said, "You're not fishing a jig, son." He then went on and asked me if I had ever observed a crawfish falling through the water. I hadn't noticed that while I was letting my jig fall straight down to the bottom, he was occasionally making small jerks as his jig fell. I've caught my fair share of bass off the bottom with a jig, but after that "fishing" lesson many years ago, many more bass have been landed on the way down. If you happen to stumble onto this reply, make sure you revisit the older posts/replies. You never know what you might find that was missed on an earlier read. Thanks for the memories, WRB.

Mississippi, well, there you go. I bet it's not far off by now and it'll be sitting on your door step before you know it.

They (hard boxes) are not being used by MB anymore. Those still being sold are NOS still sitting on shelves. I'm not sure exactly when they stop using the hard box, but I have some 2014 vintage in those boxes. However, I have some 2010 Balsa Max 80 and 90 lures in the newer boxes, so I think there was some overlap where MB was still using up the older boxes they had on hand for the Pop Max.

If I ever hear my wife ask that, I'm going to get my ears checked.

It better not take that long, I plan on picking up a paddle in 3-4 months. I guess there are three levels of severity with this type of injury, the doctor told me I'm between 1 and 2. (3 requires surgery) I'll probably be giving up my free weights and go with a machine once it's healed. Just glad it wasn't a heart attack, that scared me.

I'm not going to be laying any bricks for awhile. I was doing flys this morning and thought I was having a heart attack. Wife rushed me to the hospital and it turns out I tore a pectoral. Man, it hurt, left pec and arm hurt like hell! Doctor says it should heal 3-6 months, thank goodness I cast with my right arm.

I really like the BOSS Hubs, you can make some great punch rigs using those. Don't know much about their jigs, I only use Siebert's Dredge jigs.

The double hook was used on the front because of the prop in the belly. I remember them being sold in the 60's and 70's, but not so sure about the 80's.

Can't wait to start mixing with silicone.

As far as I know, it will be given to the young man at Christmas. You might ask Chris if he'll take a pic or two, but I wouldn't present your request as "proof." I've known Chris Payne for awhile and he's a standup guy, you won't see him using anything you sent. Chris promotes Heroes On The Water, and is also involved with NRS and Kayak Angler Magazine. I trust him.
