Anything they can fit in there mouth is on the menu, they are equal opportunity feeders ? Ish Monroe claims he caught one with a gopher in its mouth before.
For what it's worth i frogged alot last year with a 7'3" MH/F Veritas 2.0 and it was plenty powerful enough for the cover I fished, which was usually "cheese" mats and pads. As I'm sure you know the Veritas MH fishes like most other brands H rods.
5 for me.
H/F heavy cover. Mostly frogs
MH/F for jigs/Texas rigs
MH/F for spinnerbaits
M/M for treble hooks
M/F spinning for finesse.
Only reason I don't use jig/spinnerbait on the same rod Is reel speed. I like 8.1:1 for jigs and 6.4:1 for spinnerbaits.
I want to say frog because that's far and away my favorite way to fish. But I live in Ohio and would like to fish all year, lol. I'd have to say Senko out of pure versatility. There's tons of ways I can present a senko to a bass
Edit: color would probably be green pumpkin
Have already spent $150 on lures and line. Another $300 coming up on a rod or two. I'm considering putting a deck on my Sun Dolphin Sportsman and getting a trailer for, so there's another potential $400 or so. Then the typical $20 here and there to restock what I use.
I've never once spent less than $50 at TW, the goal is always free shipping ?
It is for me too, though it's my most used moving bait. Do you think the 705cb has the backbone for it? Dobyns website has spinnerbait under "secondary applications" for the fury 705cb
Hey all, one of my goals for this year is to simplify my rod arsenal, I'm looking for one rod to cover all of my reaction/moving presentations. Here's my breakdown of how this rod will be used..
50% spinnerbait. 3/8 and 1/2 oz
20% jerkbait. 3/8 and 5/8 oz
20% topwater. 1/2 oz spooks
10% squarebill. 3/8 oz 1.5 size
I'm guessing my best bet is going to be something like a 7' MH/MF casting rod. I've narrowed it down to 2.. Dobyns Fury 7' MH/MF cranking and the Daiwa Tatula XT 7' MH/R Glass rod. What do you guys think... can it be done or should I be looking at 2 separate rods to cover this?
I had the Veritas 2.0 in 7'3" MH/F last year. It's a good build, powerful, pretty sensitive. Though I wouldn't pay retail for it again. Too many better options out there, if you're talking about the Lews TP1, I'd take that over the Veritas.
BPS rods seem to be a good value, I used a Bionic Blade (most recent model) 7' MH/F as an all-around rod last year. The tip was soft, acted more like a mod-fast which I found perfect for multiple applications.
