  1. I use a 7'4" heavy/fast at the moment. Any 7'+ H/F that isn't a broomstick works great for me.
  2. Awesome, I'll have to get some seat time in one. Looking to upgrade to a pedal yak and for under $2k that looks like a sweet deal.
  3. How is the Compass for stand-up fishing?
  4. Casting only right now,
  5. Irod Fiber. Feel like it should be mentioned more in the $100 rod debates. It's smoked every $90-$120 rod I've used. Though I haven't used the Fury which seems to be THE rod in that price point.
  6. Welcome from Perrysburg ?
  7. I think it's because when people think of fishing they think of casting out a nightcrawler, sitting in a chair and staring at a bobber for hours on end. That is insanely boring.
  8. 2-4 rods and a backpack with 4 3600 boxes and a few bags of plastics.
  9. Depends on what you're wanting to accomplish.. what lures and line you'll be using. Some things are better suited for casting, some spinning. I've been mostly a bank angler my whole life up until this year (kayak now) and I don't own any spinning rods. I even drop shot and throw ned rigs on a casting outfit.
  10. Irod Fiber 7' H is the best frog rod I've owned. Tip action is perfect and it's powerful
  11. People who try to sell a used $100 rod/reel for $95 plus shipping.
  12. If that's the case it would probably make a good treble hook rod.
  13. Aird X seem hard to beat for the price. I'd get a M, MH and H. That will cover everything you want to do.
  14. Pelican Catch 100. Have only used it once but these are the pros/cons gathered so far. Pros- -comfortable seat -padded standing area -good sized tankwell for storage -lockable front hatch -adjustable foot rest -gear tracks -4 flush mount rod holders -paddle holder on each side - lightweight and affordable -stand up assist strap Cons- -not super fast -stand up assist strap is too short and difficult to reach from the seat -front hatch storage is the length of the kayak https
  15. Nice write up.. I own the SV and CT.. love them both. With all the hype surrounded the Fuego right now it looks like I'll need to try one out soon.
  16. Power Pro Spectra is absolutely my favorite. I really only use braid on punch/frog rods so 65#
  17. That's tough... If it were me I'd get an Abu Garcia Blackmax $50.. Daiwa Aird X rod $55.. that would make a pretty sweet combo at just a hair above $100.
  18. The reason I use Trick Sticks!!! Nice fish OP ?
  19. I do the same with the Rage Swimmer. Usually just dip the tail. Awesome bait.
  20. When me and my 6yo daughter bank fish I usually set her up with nightcrawler under a bobber, going for anything that bites. Tomorrow we are taking the kayak on a creek for smallmouth and I have her hooked up with a wacky rig senko, as that's a huge producer in this creek.
  21. I don't see why not. I use a 1/8-1 oz rod as a bfs rod.
  22. I don't use a ton of different jigs but the All Terrain Tackle skipping jig is one of my favorites.
  23. If they seem to be missing it try trimming the legs up a bit, also switching to braid instead of mono is a must
  24. What rod and line are you throwing it on and are you setting the hook when they hit it?
  25. Yum Crawfish spray
