  5. I agree, I am becoming reacquainted. Butternut Lake - got quite a few bass there and some 40 and 50 muskes too. Good place for lunch too if I remember correctly West of Park Falls.
  6. May force you to larger expenses at Rollie & Helen's!
  7. WITh ice, Please give me your address. I will send you some money for a bottle of that buffing compound you use! Must not be a 3M product?
  8. Moved here from Wisconsin Boom. gets pretty cold there and I've been using Power Pro green a couple weeks.
  9. FWIW it should be said that heavier (30+) # braid is NOT required to keep it from digging in. I use 20 all the time with zero issue!
  10. I would NOT suggest a cheap one to learn on! The inferior parts may lead to more confusion and frustration.
  11. I want a picture of you with a Hawg in your hand in the lake!
  12. Fantastic job! Awesome old girl she is now!
  13. How many parts do you have left over?
  14. THESE ARE GREAT! Will meet ALL your charging needs.
  15. Welcome, glad to see you back in CONUS. I too took a number of years off fishing for different reasons so I understand your dilemma. I loved the reference to the pistol grip rod too. My granddaughter just closed my rod locker door on my last one the other day. I was not happy! You will find huge disparities of opinions on gear. And fishing gear has improved considerably. Since you know the basics of what you want I would suggest you pick up a combination (lews, Abu Garcia or something similar that feels good) and get some line wet. I prefer braided line but you will be recommended many combinations of line, leaders and so forth. It's a Chevy/Ford/Mopar thing, imports too! You will get no shortage of opinions anyway! Have fun, be safe and we're glad you're here!
  16. Welcome Newb person! Color is a topic you will get a variety of opinions on. Using the search function will provide a whole lot of opinions for clear water, stained water, muddy water and so on. Good luck, there's a bunch to be learned here!
  17. That Lowe will be a PIA to row without a motor!
  18. I never thought of that! I don't have that many rigs I need to do that, besides, rod covers are a bunch cheaper!
  19. Welcome! Be careful with your expectations regarding the hole in the water!
  20. Personal choice, it's a wonderful thing to have that ability to be different. Even the older Abu Garcia cases are being made in vibrant colors. It's not for me, but for those who want to wear Suffix 832 in yellow on an Abu Garcia with lemon yellow cases, mounted on a Carrot Stick while wearing a yellow/orange polo shirt with the collar popped, they can. It's a beautiful country as Bassman said!
  21. With all the awful things kids can, and do, get involved with it's GREAT to see those young men have a great time meeting other fine young men! Go Greenville!
  22. I don't have much choice but use relatively improved launches. My truck is an older Ram 12V diesel that weighs 8800 # necked! It's easily 9500 all decked out for fishing.
