  1. Boy am I guilty of that, too many times I've set the hook only to cuss out myself Bunch of great replies, the only one I can think of now is on a bright sunny day is to look for a shaded spot, be it a dock, overhang, shady side of an island or bank.
  2. It cuts the time just for 1st period, the other 2 are the same as always. At least that's what they say for now.
  3. Mustad Fastach size 0,1 and 2. I've used Duolock, Crosslock, TA clips and and some I don't remember. I've settled for now with the Fastach for freshwater and the TA for the salt. Being on a kayak most of my rods are set up for multiple techniques so it's easier for me to change baits.
  4. Favorite part was David Dudley and his forward facing sunglasses
  5. In the Delaware river, first known hybrid between a largemouth and a snakehead. Rumor has it was accidentally released by Monsanto in their quest for total domination of the fishery
  6. Howdy from North Joisey
  7. That and Lunkers Love Nightcrawlers were two books I wish I had brought when they were readily available
  8. I've checked out Paul Krew Custom Baits, man those are some beautiful looking baits. Being on a restricted income and with a ridiculous amount of plastic baits so far I've been able to resist for now.
  9. Jeez, checked out the Bassmaster home page and it doesn't look like the weigh in has even started yet. But under the weigh in page it says weigh in has concluded.
  10. Just saw that they'll release the results before the weigh in today.
  11. I used to when I was younger, but those days of freezing my butt off to fish are in the past. I've just started fishing here in New Jersey since the weather has broke in the kayak, just not catching yet. The winds here have not stopped, today was supposed to be the best day, it was in the 60's with light winds, yeah that didn't work out, the wind really picked up here on the lake I was on. Had to time the wind to get the kayak back on the roof of the suv.
  12. Tall enough that my feet still reach the ground! German and English from what I've been told. Must explain my love of beer
  13. Spring Peepers, call of Kingfishers and the gawk of a Great Blue Heron that awaken me from a trance on the water.
  14. bladed jig, gonna try and catch some fish on it this year, so far only have caught one tiny bass on it.
  15. I agree 100%, that is one of the beers I always looked forward to when fall weather started. Sitting around the fire pit with one on the first cool night was just perfect.
  16. I don't believe in superstitions but the hat has been proven many time in studies to be a proven fish catching key. When one is lost or has to be replaced it is a time consuming process for the permanent replacement to be made for consistent results. Oh, and when I need to outfish my buddies on a trip the Aftco Blue sun shirt needs to be utilized
  17. This is the last one I have, an old time favorite that was resurrected this year in an special pack that was pretty much only in Costco. I really enjoyed it on a cool and cloudy day here in the northeast.
  18. I'm usually out on my kayak for at least 6 hrs, so that's a decent amount of paddling. I bring 2 tuna sandwiches and 2 packs of BelVita blueberry snacks. Plus a couple of bottles of water, plus 2 frozen bottles in my RTIC soft cooler. I also have a good breakfast before I head out. The cooler doesn't take up much space as you can see in the picture. Many times I too eat on the way home.
  19. I only have spinning for freshwater, I've been a finesse guy all my life. Saltwater I have a couple of conventional that get a lot of use and heavier spinning gear, different ballgame in the salt.
  20. Just one now, a NY non-resident, don't need one here in NJ anymore once you're past 70.
