  1. Hey guys, so I'm looking into buying a topwater /jerkbait rod that can also handle buzzbaits, soft plastics, etc.) but mainly for topwater/ jerkbaits! . The only dilemma i have is whether to buy a rod in the 7ft medium so it can be more versatile, or the 6'6 medium. Also, any rod eccomendations? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!
  2. i'm trying to figure out about the favorite rods as well, nobody has a good unsponsored review on it. But to answer your question i would go dobyns, st croix reel seat is very uncomfortable.
  3. Hey guys, so I was wondering what would be the best topwater/ jerbait rod under100? I was considering the No.*** 6'6" Medium casting rod. Any other rod recomendations? Also what reel, line and gear ratio would you get. I was thinking about 10-12# Yo-Zuri Hybrid. Any input appreciated, thanks!
  4. Hey guys, So I'm going to get right into it and make this short. I want a crankin' stick that can handle squarebill's, 6-10' medium divers, and traps. The two rods I have narrowed it down to is the Duckett Micro Magic Pro Crankbait rod 7' Medium power, moderate taper, and the Dobyns Fury 7' Med-Heavy Mod-fast action Taper. Which one would you chose. Any input is appreciated thanks!
  5. Hey guys, So I'm about to pick up a Daiwa Tatula CT Type R For Squarebills, 6-10 Foot Medium Divers, and Lipless Crankbaits. I'm debating whether to get a 5.5:1 or a 6.3:1. Im also planning on purchasing a 7' Medium Duckett Micro Magic Pro Crankait Rod. Any other rod reccomendations? Any input is aprecciated thanks!
  6. I have a Abu Garcia Veritas 2.0 Medium Light 6'9 and I have abused the crap out of that thing and it has held up great. It acts more like a medium power backbone wise, but it has plenty of tip so i can feel even the slightest "ticks" when a fish strikes. I would also check out the Duckett ghost, St Croix Mojo Bass, Dobyn's Fury etc.) I would use anything 7ft and below and medium or medium light action (depending on how stiff the rod is) Tight Lines!
  7. @BigGame0892 would you get that over the Ct Type R
  8. Hey guys, So I was looking at the Daiwa Tatulas and I realized that the Daiwa tatula CT Type R is very cheap on Amazon. At least 30 dollars cheaper than on Tackle Warehouse. In the picture it looks like the regulas Daiwa Tatula CT, but in the reviews people claim it is the Type R. What do you guys think, check out the link.https://www.amazon.com/Daiwa-Tatula-Type-6-3-TATULA-R100H/dp/B00F5EGMA8/ref=sr_1_4?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1481227789&sr=1-4&keywords=daiwa+tatula+ct+type+r
  9. Thanks for the Inupt. So I decided to go with a little bit of a faster gear ratio on the tatula, im going to go with a 6.3:1 because it just seems a little more versatle for the tactics im going to be using most. I still need to figure out the rod, im leaning toward the Duckett Micro Magic Pro 7' Medium moderate action crankin' rod. Any more rod suggestions?
  10. Hey guys! So this is going to be my first post on Bass Resource.com, but I really want to find a good Crankbait Rod that is ideal for squarebills, 6-10 medium divers, and lipless crankbaits under the 180$ range. The two rods that I have been looking at is the Duckett Micro Magic Pro 7' Medium Crankbait Rod and the Castaway Skeleton V2 7' Medium Crankbait rod. I have 1 other duckett rod and I love the feel of it and I like the micro guides, but I have also heard really good things about the castaway as well. Also, for a reel, I want a somewhat slow gear ratio real ex(5.5:1, 5.3:1). The reel I have been looking at is the Daiwa Tatula CT Casting reel in 5.5:1. Any thoughts on that reel? Any input is appreciated, Tight Lines!
