  1. I start with the holes in the pads. Hop it a few times then I reel on top and drop into other holes on my way back. I usually look at it as a grid and pitch into every square as I work around the cover. I'm am watching the pads at all times looking for moving pads to indicate a fish swimming through. If I see a fish jump I immediately reel in and pitch to that spot. Never pass up structure. Work your way all around it. Pitching has taken over frogging for me this year. The go to has been a pegged 1/2 oz weight with a Rage Bug in watermelon meat.
  2. Showed my cards to early haha.
  3. I'm grabbing the chrome one too
  4. Almost went with Omori
  5. Palaniuk Fieder JVD Crochet Meyers
  6. For 10 less than the premier you get an SCIII graphite blank instead of the SCII the premier has.
  7. 130$ 6'8" MXF St. Croix Mojo Bass. You won't regret it. I know it 10 more than 120,but she'll get over it. I read that wrong initially, I thought you wanted to replace the 6'8". 7'1" MHF Mojo Bass. Same "she'll get over it" applies. If you can handle the doghouse for a couple days the 7'2" MHF Tatula rod for 150$
  8. I have 1 Berkley Ligtning 7' ML. It's my dropshot rod.If I ever get around to dropshotting that is.
  9. Throw a Rage craw on there too. Like @NHBull said, run it slow for the most part, but change up the retrieve speed.Somtimes I can only get hit when I burn it.
  10. None. I usually carry a 6'8" MXF spinning, a 7'1" MHF casting and a 7'2" HF casting. (Poppers,Swim Jigs,Pitching) aka top, middle and bottom of the water column. I can also go T-rig,swim jig and frog for the same effect
  11. PP or 832. If you're fishing open water try the 40#. 50# if you're playing in the weeds.
  12. I took a gamble on bucket E. Bucket D i went with a a guy that's showing a pattern every 3 tournaments. A B and C I like my picks.
  13. Same reason the Tatula XT sells for 50 less than the regular Tatula. Components Can I personally tell the difference? Probably not
  14. If you fishing on slack line, try reeling up then use a sweep set.
  15. Reels have drag. Not rods. Even though ive used my rod to drag a fish or two.
  16. Im sure @Delaware Valley Tackle might have some insight. He will show up soon enough.
  17. Does the "clack clack clack" get you a lot of reaction strikes? It makes a good amount of noise on top. I fish it at about 2 feet under the surface.
  18. Steady retrieve Not burning it and not slow rolling.
  19. So with the thumb bar engaged, you put your thumb on the spool and turned the handle with thumb pressure on the spool?
  20. If the spool keeps spinning after it hits the ground, your spool tension is loose. Tighten the spool tension knob until the line doesn't overrun when the lure hits the ground. Make minor adjustments to the brakes as you get used to casting it to gain distance. Baitcasters take time to learn, you wont get it in a couple outings. Also train your thumb to stop the lure as it enters the water. You will get it,just be patient.
  21. Now that I've had the chance to play with it for a bunch of outings,it is quickly turning into one of my favorites. This thing looks awesome coming through the water for one. Secondly it bombs. I am using the Morning Dawn colored rat. I have been fishing it on a 7' MHF Mojo and an 8.1:1 reel spooled up with 13# Defier Armilo. I have caught at least one fish with it each time out and 2-3 fish multiple times. The bass can't seem to lay off this thing. My only issue with it is,the front treble gets caught on the lip and line a bit. Just based on its effectiveness, I can deal with that. Had what looked to be a 2.5 or spit the hook on me right at the bank early on today. My fault for not keeping it pinned up with the rod. I couldn't get anything going pitching beaver baits,so I went back to the rat once more before taking off. Decided to go back to the spot the one jumped off and got hit again 2nd cast. This time I didn't give it a chance to get me wrapped up in the vegetation ans spit the hook. Landed another 3 pounder with it. This time she just about choked it. If you have any qualms dropping 22.00 non this thing I can safely say IMO it is worth every penny. Give this lure a try. You will not regret it.
  22. Ehrler and Palaniuk left. With a 20th from Card. Nice to have 2 of the top 4 though
