  1. Well, I got the reel and spooled it up. Fished this morning but didn't use it. Really hard to notice size difference from the I in hand. It does feel a little smoother than the I series more akin to the 70. I'll report back when I've actually fished it.
  2. Anything M/F and 7:1 or better on the reel. Dobyns Fury 733C/734C and Daiwa Tatula CT is a good option and will keep you well under $300.
  3. Yes, I just got one. I have it on my jig rod and have fished it about 3 times. I love it. I definitely want more but would like to see how the new Curado compares to potentially save some money.
  4. Yes to size and weight but also it feels like a much more refined reel. It's much smoother and much less noisy. I would have more if they held more line.
  5. I have quite a few Tat CT's and one Curado I. I definitely don't pick up the Curado 200 I nearly as much as the CT's. Now the Curado 70's are another story. Those are my go to pitching reels. I'm interested to see if the 200 K will bring the 70 and the 200 closer together in terms of feel and quality.
  6. I noticed that my cast control knob is really hard to turn either way. Is anyone else noticing this? Wondering if something may be wrong with the reel. It works fine and the adjustments to the knob work but it's really difficult to turn compared to all of my other reels.
  7. I do have a couple 70's and I'll let you know once I get it out I the water.
  8. Browsing eBay I found a 200KHG and ordered it. A quick google showed a couple of websites that have it in stock as well. Check Cabela's if you are interested. I know I was eager to get one and figured some other people might be as well.
  9. If you are going to be throwing presentations heavier than 3/8oz I would not buy that rod. I have no experience with it but they use those ratings for a reason.
  10. For 10xd's I throw the reel you mentioned and the Abu Garcia Veritas Winch 7'11" XH rated up to 2.5oz.
  11. Haha, these threads kill me. I think I don't need anything and I read this and feel like I have to have one!
  12. Is a reel in the low 6:1 ratio the consensus? I just purchased one of the Dobyn's mislabeled 736CB glass rods and am looking for a good reel to pair with it. I'm also going throw up to 6xd's with it.
  13. Nice, thanks for the heads up on that.
  14. I'll definitely post an update once everything is completed.
  15. It takes a little bit of getting used to if you are accustomed to the reg CT. I was actually a little disappointed but I took it out tonight and tweaked it a little bit and I've gotten much better results. For me I don't know if there is enough noticeable difference to purchase an SV over a standard CT.
  16. Rage Tail soft plastics $3.49 at my local Academy ($2 off) today. Picked up 9 new packs. Rage craws are my favorite jig trailer.
  17. I just wanted to give a quick shout out to Dobyn's rods for their amazing customer service and business model. I may buy other rods from time to time in the future but I'm sold on Dobyn's overall. I'm in the process of upgrading my rods/reels and was reading about their upgrade program. I reached out to them via email and received a quick and detailed response from Richard. Right now I have primarily Fury series rods so I'm going to be upgrading to some XP's and Extremes. I can get up to $90 for my Furys (they are in execellent shape so I'm sure I will get top dollar). That is amazing to me. You'd be hard pressed to get that on the secondary market. Knowing that when I purchase a rod (and I change my mind frequently) I can get significant value back for it from the manufacturer it will be hard for me to purchase from anyone else. On top of that the quality is top notch. Maybe there are other companies that offer that, but I don't think there are many. I'm a Dobyn's rod guy now. I have no affiliation with them but I'm a huge fan. I hope this helps someone in the market for a nice new rod.
  18. I have the Fury 734C that I was using for 1/2oz and under jigs and I love it. I recently purchased the XP 744C.
  19. I have a bunch of Tat CT's and Curados. The Curado 70 is what I use to pitch with. I feel like it pitches further with less effort. The smaller frame fits my hands better. Smoother reel overall, IMO.
  20. Throwing a lipless and caught a big *** catfish. Stepdad netted him and I reached in and before I knew the hooks were in me. Somehow someway after I was hooked everything came out of the net and the fish came off. Had he not it would probably have ripped the tips of my fingers off. You can see in the pick I'm hooked through the top of my middle finger nail and what you can't see is the other treble hooked up under my pointer. It hurt pretty bad and my wife is a nurse so I went to the ER. A couple of shots to numb the pain and the doc was able to pull the hooks out pretty easily. Honestly it never even really hurt after that. That'll make you be really careful around trebles.
  21. You sir, are correct. I ordered the Chronarch MGL and didn't see the discount until the confirmation email. Nice surprise.
  22. I have two of these. One for 1/2oz lipless and one for anything that dives 10' or under. I really like them.
  23. I was going to get a Chronarch MGL but no discount.
  24. I believe St. Croix is excluded from the sale
