  1. This forum is such a hilarious anomaly. If you said that ANYWHERE ELSE on the internet people would be demanding pics
  2. Y'all are jumping the gun on the breakup and missing the obvious solution. The ideal hobby for you to present to her is cooking. It will occupy her time while you're out AND you'll have a nice warm meal waiting on you when you get home.
  3. Have you found anything solid confirming the merger/buyout? Looks like Essilor, the parent company of Costa and many other recognizable brands is actually buying Luxottica. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-01-15/luxottica-essilor-agree-to-50-billion-euro-merger-ft-reports
  4. I'm still new here, but this seems like such a strange thing to request If this is real, best of luck! If I could catch anything over 3 pounds, I'd UPS it to you just for the story..."gather round kids. Did I ever tell you about the time I mailed a frozen fish to an internet stranger and ended up on the FBI watch list?"
  5. C'mon, Steve! Of all OP's to follow-up on, it's this one!
  6. Much more likely scenario is that they're hoping if they let the hook take them away, they won't be able to hear the Grateful Dead anymore.
  7. Fishing is the only activity I can think of where I don't listen to music. I'm also a bank fisherman and enjoy being immersed in the sounds of my surroundings (while also keeping my own sounds to a minimum) If I was going to just sit and wait for a catfish to bite I could see myself downing a few whiskeys and breaking out the bluetooth speaker
  8. When I got out there was a good amount of top water action, so I ended up tying on the pad crasher instead. I didn't land anything, but I got some exciting hits and got a valuable lesson on patience lol
  9. Sorry, I didn't realize it was a repeat promo. All I've seen before was the bag and hat promo! I'm getting out to try the jerbait tonight
  10. Here's my Valentine with her first bass!
  11. I read through the posting rules and I don't think this is a violation of any kind, but please remove if it is. After I signed up for fantasy fishing I got a promo email from BassMaster offering me a 1-year membership with the magazines and also 4 "exclusive" baits all for $14.99. Just wanted to share in case any of y'all were on the fence about joining. Here's a pic of the baits I got.
  12. Biggest reasons for me are being outdoors and clearing my head/disconnecting. I have an office job where I'm "plugged-in" way more than I like. But, fishing also fits very nicely into a few other quirks in the following ways: My OCD loves organizing gear My inner researcher likes to constantly study new techniques and equipment The collector in me then likes to buy the stuff I've researched And those three things are pretty much the cycle I've been in for the past 6 months. Research, buy, organize
  13. Thanks for taking the time to post this, roadwarrior! Gonna go buy me a spinning rig with a little more confidence than I had before reading this thread
  14. Very cool of you. I wish you lived in Texas!
  15. Lake Fork Guy on youtube recently posted a series of videos outlining his career in the outdoor industry. Pro's/Cons and what he's doing now. Pretty sure I'm not allowed to post links, but a simple search on youtube and you'll find him. Hope it helps
