  1. You can also let Navionics do it for you if you have a Humminbird or Garmin unit. That is what I am doing by using their Sonar Charts program. This lake went from this: To this: This lake didn't have any maps from any source, not even an outline, and Navionics used my data to do this.
  2. That feature has not been added yet. It is a work in progress.
  3. Agree. no matter what motor you upgrade to, get one with variable speed control. That in itself will give you more run time.
  4. I only looked at one and it had the red creek channel lines. Lake Winnisquam
  5. The Chatterbait Pro and Pro 2 models have a weedguard and a better hook than the cheap ones. http://zmanfishing.com/store/categories/chatterbait/chatterbait_pro
  6. There are no highways on the water to give you turn by turn directions.
  7. A lot of the NE lakes are glacial so there are no creek channels. The Navionics mapping shows some creek channel lines (red) where rivers are involved. Check the Navionics web site Web App.

  9. A lot don't recognize what it is, or ignore it, or don't look at their equipment enough to even notice it.
  10. You got it. It take two or more units operating on the same frequencies to have cross-talk.
  11. With the HDI unit, if you can run the Down Scan without the 83/200 kHz 2D operating, then you won't get cross-talk. If you ;can't turn off the 83/200, then you will get cross-talk. Another option is try operating 83 kHz on one and 200 kHz on the other for 2D sonar. WIth Hummibird units, both of those frequencies broadcast all the time no matter what the frequency setting is.
  12. The size of the display will determine the size of the image. BIGGER is better
  13. Humminbird Side Imaging units are combo sonar/GPS The transducer that comes with the units do 2D sonar, Side Imaging, Down Imaging and Temperature. The 360 is an Ethernet accessory. It does the image scanning via a rotating transducer inside a housing. There is a transom version and a bow version. It is a sonar tool that will show where stuff is in relation to the boat in all directions. It is like underwater radar. Post #49 in the Screenshots topic is an example with Side Imaging and 360. Just like any of the imaging technologies, you have to learn how to interpret what is displayed and have to take the time to fully learn how to use it. I have the bow version that I connect to a 1198c SI Combo.
  14. What brand/models of sonar equipment do you have?
  15. Typically 2 and 5 will be the supply circuit 1/3 would be the load side for 2 and 4/6 would be the load side for 5. There may be a connection diagram printed on the side of the switch.
  16. They like plastic worms too. See the Culprit worm this one took?
  17. Either one is OK, you only NEED the SPDT though. The DPDT just gives you two circuits to switch at the same time.
  18. The Gen 2 models got a faster processor that improves the slow mapping/navigation.
  19. You won't have enough room for solar cells on a boat to "charge" batteries. They will "maintain" a charged battery if you don't use the battery/s.
  20. That is a good portable mount. Just attach the 2D transducer to one side and the LSS transducer to the other side. Your issue will be if the mount arm is long enough to have the LSS transducer below the hull bottom so it can "see" left and right.
  21. Do you know how to turn off the left side readout boxs in the Side Imaging view? That will make the image larger with the same settings. Your Sensitivity is one or two numbers too high for the hard returns. Lots of fish around that bridge.
  22. I checked some spawing areas to see how the 360 would do as compared to Side Imaging. Side Imaging view from a couple of years ago. 360 view a couple of days ago: With the 360, I don't have to pass over the area to scan it, I can just hold the boat in place and watch as the 360 does the scanning.
  23. Gander Mt. is pathetic with their electronics selection. Check with a marine electronics dealer.
  24. I have been using my fishing tools for the past two days. Got a new toy to help me pick on the fish a little better. Doesn't make the bite though
  25. No, the company's transducers are not universal. You will need the XP 9 20 for shoot-thru and the AS SIDB Y cable to connect the transom SI transducer and shoot-thru to the display.
