  1. They have been around for over 60 years.
  2. I was bass fishing clear water yesterday. I was using finesse worms rigged weedless wacky. Colors were watermelon with red flakes and Junebug with red flakes. I chose those two colors since they were first two bags within reach. Both produced numerous catches. Color is a non-factor, it's the presentation. I have used 10 different plastic worm colors in a single day as a test, none outperformed any other.
  3. That is not a Chatterbait. That is knock-off version that is not constructed the same.
  4. A Chatterbait does not have a split ring connection between the blade and jig hook.
  5. No, I do the hook set just like with a Tx rig. The weedless rigging is the same as my avatar, just don't have the shrink tubing for that picture. I use the shrink tubing with the finesse worms too. Forgot to add that I would not use the Wacky hook, that is just as useless as the Gammy Finesse Wide Gap hook. The hook eye and hook point are too close together which causes missed hooksets.
  6. I use the Mosquito 2/0 for wacky rigging finesse worms. Uni-knot. The Mosquito is a light wire version of the SSW or Gammy Octopus hook.
  7. Smallmouth waters-no matter how clear, chartreuse blades, chartreuse skirt, chartreuse trailer.
  8. Hopefully you will make it to 15 years old.
  9. +1. I had a 10' jon at one time. Standing on the bottom of the boat was not the most stable position.
  10. The fastest superline for loosing its color that I used in the past few years is Ohero in the multi-color. I got some to test for a three day trip to St.Clair and the color was mostly gone after those three days--couldn't even tell it had different colors.
  11. So is the Compact SI transducer.
  12. Humminbird has some less expensive Side Imaging models that just have a single Imaging frequency (455 kHz) and 83/200 kHz for 2D sonar. The Down Imaging units have 200/455 kHz for 2D sonar out of the box and 455/800 kHz for Down Imaging. The more sofisticated units can be changed to 83/200 kHz for 2D sonar. There is a trolling motor DI puck that is tuned for that setting.

  14. The natural color of the superline is white and it can't be tinted. Any color is a coating that will wear off with use. Some brands "bleed" faster than others.
  15. Read the PM I sent you with 4 sources.
  16. You can make your own topo maps using acmemapper. http://mapper.acme.com You will only have terrestrial topo lines of 10' though. Print a light ink copy of the satellite view Print the topo view on a clear printer sheet and put that on top of the satellite print. This is one I did for part of a new lake;
  17. Nottoway Lake is like Briery Creek, just a lot smaller (188 acres vs 845 acres). You can use up to a 10HP gas motor on that too. Bear Creek Lake Arrowhead Lake Slate River Lake
  18. My first experience with it was fishing with a crappie guide. He used the small stuff and it cast and performed well. I got a spool of 17# to test on spinning gear, It has the same memory as mono. NO THANKS !!!!
  19. I have superline on baitcasters, spinning reels, and spincast reels. It works equally well on all of them.
  20. I have been promoting that rigging since developing it, for about 10 years and is known world-wide. The way I do the Trick and Finesse worms has the most following. For a stick bait, YES it works better than a O-ring. With an O-ring, the hook is parallel with the Senko. With it being parallel, it is smaller than the Senko size bent. That causes missed hooksets. Using the heat shrink tubing, the hook is perpendicular to the Senko and the Senko's bulk does not interfere with hooksets. I have also described how I make my own weedguard hooks using Gamakatsu 4/0 Octopus hooks-like in the picture.. Those hooks are bass size and are strong enough to handle the biggest bass in the heaviest cover. I have posted that same picture on this site several times when wacky rigging is the topic.
  21. I insert the hook into the tubing and then through the body of the lure. The hook penetrates both no matter if the hook is perpendicular or parallel with the lure. My avatar is the weedless wacky rig for Trick and Finesse worms. It starts like this: This is with a Senko:
  22. PM sent with more info request.
  23. Not only that but what boat do you have and on what type waters do you visit?
  24. Another option other than the Humminbird Smartcast------ http://vexilar.com/apps/sonarphone/instructions/sonarphone-instructions.html
  25. NO, do not do that, check your PM reply
