  1. I have the Tracker PT 170 TX and my trailer width with the roller guide-ons and back-up lights is 95" .
  2. OR a Sasquatch. That TV show did some investigating in West Va.
  3. Message sent.
  4. You may need a fiddle, a banjo, two guitars, and set of drums.
  5. It doesn't take much trimming up for that model SI transducer. It's only 4" long. You just need enough clearance for the left side SI pulse to "see" past the lower unit. At idle speed, if the top of your motor is level, that is probably enough.
  6. The Navionics app is available for Apple and Android. Having a tablet that is sunlight readeable will be your challenge.
  7. Yes, that is the best location for the SI transducer. You also need a shoot-thru XP 9 20 transducer for high speed depth readings since the SI transducer will be out of the water when on plane. You connect the SI transducer and the shoot-thru transducer to the display with the AS SIDB Y cable. You will have to trim out some to get left side SI pulse clearance when scanning at idle speed. The mount bracket should be level side-to-side, you have it tilted. You will probably have to use the lockdown screw to keep the mount from tripping due to water pressure when coming off plane , Do not overtighen the mount screws as that will cause the mount to break. Use the cable clamps to secure the cable and transducer in case the mount does break, so the prop won't eat the transducer.
  8. You need prop speed to take care of weeds. You don't have that with a 30# motor.
  9. Yes, I have seen that discussed several times. If the unit is still under warranty, call Humminbird to arrange service. If not warranty, some have purchased an external GPS antenna instead of paying the flat rate repair charge. You can see the repair charges on the Humminbird web site FAQ section. Do a web search or check Ebay for Humminbird GR-50 GPS antenna.
  10. Better yet is to add a Big Foot switch to one of the power connections so you can turn the motor on/off with your foot. That switch is heavy duty enough to handle the motor amps.
  11. You can use one IF it has the amp capacity to operate the motor.
  12. "You will be more accurate if the gps is near the unit" Sonar based waypoints will be more accurate if the GPS antenna is where the transducers is. Visual based waypoints will be more accurate if the GPS antenna is were the unit is.
  13. The 561 does not have a memory card door for access to the unit interior, so any moisture inside has gotten by the case gasket. Rice won't be of any benefit. A trip to Humminbird is required.
  14. No, your line got twisted and maybe some line memory from being wet and stowed on your reel. Remove the lure and any attachments and pull off 25 yards or so and reel it back in with the line pinched between your fingers. Actually stretching it will remove some of the memory coiling.
  15. You can download the manual here: http://www.humminbird.com/Category/Support/Product-Manuals/
  16. The very first vertical row of screen pixels on the right side is current data, all to the left of that is history. If you want to know the location of the recorded history, you have to pay attention where you are as you see stuff first recorded. I had one of those units many years ago.
  17. A package is about $2 at Lowes. Three 4" pieces of the 3/8" for Senkos and six 4" pieces of the 1/4" for Trick and finesse worms. Each piece you use can be reused many, many times until it gets too many holes in it to stay together. Yes the 1/8" is used to make the hook shank spikes. That size is what I use to attach the braided stainless steel weedguard on the Senko hooks.
  18. Time of day is not the basis of good catching. Learn the tides for that location and plan to be on the water around the low tide times. 3 hours before until 3 hours after.
  19. Yes you can do what you want. I will send you a PM how to do it if you want that unnessary expense. The simplest method is forget the US2 and put a SI transducer on the trolling motor.
  20. What are going to do for depth when the trolling motor is stowed? What boat is the installation on and how do you use it? There is a resolution depending on the applicaiton.
  21. If you get hook penetration past the barb, the fish cannot throw the hook no matter what type you use. You may have a line/rod/hookset technique issue. I mash the barb down or break it off, so I know I get good hook penetration. I use equipment/ line that can handle the task.
  22. You have to experiment with the height. That is why there are slots instead of round holes in the mount. Post a screen shot of what the unit is displaying and a picture of your whole transom.
  23. The recommended height is the 1/2 the thickness (top to bottom) of the transducer to be below the hull bottom. You have all the transducer below the hull bottom. I see you did install the roostertail plug. The SI pulses "see" from the water's surface to past vertical under the transducer on both sides. Any object or disturbed/aerated water coming off the hull within that coverage area will be recorded.
  24. I used to have it on one of my fiberglass bass boats. I only put it on for quick planning in shallow tidal waters. I used the Attwood "gull wing" model so there was no drag when on plane.
