  1. I installed the wireless type by Peak on my Colorado. The camera goes on the two license plate screws and I put its transmitter in the bed on the left side.
  2. Sears Diehard PM-1 size 31M
  3. The two trolling motor batteries should remain trolling motor ONLY batteries. IF the current starting battery has the capacity to handle the rest of the loads, just connect your added power circuit to that battery. Since you are adding more sofisticated computers to your electrical system, you may need a larger battery with more reserve capacity. For a common power connection for your electronics, add a power buss at the console using 10 guage wire with a 20A circuit breaker at the battery on the postitive wire (RED). Then use a properly sized fuse to each device's power cord at the buss.
  4. Yes, I have several dozen Silver Buddys and similar blade baits, but I rarely fish them at Briery Creek though. There are a few places you can use them vertically. I used them at Sandy River Res. Weedless plastics at Briery Creek and Sandy River also. I caught a couple of these bass a couple of years ago at Briery Creek with a Silver Buddy. Just have to know where that can be done effectively. There are no trees in this image and a mostly smooth bottom.
  5. Staying on a piece of cover without creating a waypoint is easy since you can see where it is as you move around due to wind or current.
  6. I don't use a square bill for those depths and I don't fish the bank. My presentations were vertical. I fish were I see fish with my electronics. Cover?? The second picture is 845 acres of flooded timber like this: I do a sonar profile of the lakes when I first get there to see what level the fish are. I don't waste time fishing where they are not. The first picture was at Sandy River and there is some cover like this.
  7. You are right about that or any other blade bait. I let my line unwind after every cast by stopping the lure about 2'-3' from the rod tip.
  8. A blade bait is not a spinnerbait. I was using a Silver Buddy and a Krazy Blade, never threw a spinnerbait.
  9. I went to Sandy River and Briery Creek yesterday to do some sonar experiementing and to check out what the fish are doing. The water temp was 63-64 degrees and the fall turn-over has not happened yet at either lake. Thermocline at about 27 feet. I caught bass with blade baits, shakey head finesse worms and weedless wacky rigged Trick and finesse worms in the 10'-25' depth range. 24 bass total.
  10. Sound Bite A jig and a sound chamber to use on a Carolina Rig. Still have that kit somewhere, never used it.
  11. I fish because I can.
  12. I didn't fix it. I sent it to Humminbird to have the screen replaced. Approx $230 Yours may be more since the screen is larger. CALL Humminbird Customer Service.

  15. Not every mid-November is the same. You base your presentation on the current weather and water conditions. The turn-over hasn't happened yet, water temps are still in the mid 60's. I have seen snow and I have seen 80+ degrees in mid-November. I fish there often and would not assume what would be productive and where it would be productive in a couple of weeks. I can suggest what and where just prior to your trip based on more current data.
  16. This is a mixture of bass, crappie, and shad using the 360 this past Friday. All that activity kept the shad scattered since they were "what's for lunch".
  17. The part about the FishID color is incorrect. The Blue fish are what the 83 kHz sonar pulse is seeing and there are three sizes of those. The Gold fish are what the 200 kHz sonar pulse is seeing and there are three sizes of those. Blue fish will be farther from the boat and gold fish will be closer to the boat.
  18. I use 80# or frogging on grass mats and umbrella rigs.
  19. Learn the species you are after, their whole life cycle. Once you learn that and where they are likely to be and when, check those areas with your sonar unit. Fish if they are there or move on if they are not.,
  20. Waypoints are not part of the mapping function. Mapping is just a background on the plotter screen. Waypoints are stored in the unit's memory. The Navionics mapping is read directly from the media card. Raymarine and Lowrance do not speak the same language and connot share data even via memory card. There is no such connection that shares data between brands. You would have to take a computer wih you to use software to translate the data from one format to the other. Bottom line-----you cannot mix brands.
  21. Supertune gives you the potential for more beuutiful and complicated backlashes. WORKS OF ART
  22. I depends on what technology you want. To get the scan technology for the HDS, you have to purchase another accessory (Structure Scan LSS-2). The Elite-7 HDI comes with the transducer that gives you Down Scan and regular 2D sonar.
  23. I do the hip boot deal also if there isn't a dock beside the ramp. But I still drive on the trailer with the trolling motor.
  24. I do that a lot. When I fish electric-only waters. I also add a transom trolling motor. I back in enough so when I drive the boat on the trailer using the transom motor and standing at the transom, I get enough bow lift to make it to the winch stand with very little if any winching.
  25. A typical fiberglass bass boat with a jackplate has the SI transducer attached to the jackplate which positions the transducer over a foot above the hull bottom. Those setups use another transducer as a shoot-thru for 2D sonar. SI just has to "see" left and right and just needs enough unblocked water contact to do that. MSRP of the Compact SI transducer is about $200 and MSRP of the HDSI transducer is about $270. All the units we have been discussing come with the Compact SI transducer.
