If you must use that much weight, use a panel nail and the weight won't slip because they have ridges on the shank. The ridges help hold the nail in the plastic too.
endless, just do a web search for Transducer Shield and Saver. They sell direct and their products are the same price at retailers. They are not cheap and are well built.
The company may custom make a transom mount for your broken transducer, just ask.
Three Rivers Marine Electronics carries their products.
I have three of those reels. One is the 5.1 and the other two are 6.1 ratio. The drag slips on one of the 6.1 so I don't use it anymore. I have a couple dozen other baitcasters so it's no big deal. I still use the 5.1 for small crankbaits and the other 6.1 for Tx rigging.
One drop of a good quality reel oil on each spool bearing will make it cast very well.
A "natural" bubblegum colored finesse worm rigged wacky on fluorocarbon line. Be patient for the bait to fall the 20' or so. Add a size 3d steel finishing nail in the worm head if it is windy.
Using that color, you can track the decent and see when they take it. Works for me !!!!!!!
A deep cycle battery in the largest size you can afford. Yes that charger will work well with a lead/acid flooded cell battery.
I have two of the 55# Enduras and use a size 27 battery with each, but I don't use those motors all day, just for added boost for my bow motor on electric only waters.
The motor is a non-digital 5 speed and is harder on battery usage than the variable speed digital motors like the Traxxis in the transom mount type.
I use the Humminbird 798 ci SI that has the same size screen. The smaller screen is a disadvantage if you want to use multiple views, but for single views, they are OK. The two screens I use the most is the Side Imaging only (which is the Structure Scan view shown in the BPS catalog) and the 2D/DI that is positioned one above the other like this--don't know what the HDS5 display setup is---
I just noticed this site on Weather.com. You can find just about all the water in your area:

I have two of the Spidercast baitcasters. The model number stickers are worn off. The teardrop shaped one is 5.3-1 (on the handle) and the ratio sticker on the round one is worn off but feels about the same.
Chris Green, Rivanna Res, and Walnut Creek have some very large bass also.
My PB largemouth in weight was caught at Chris Green, 10#-6 ounces and I caught a 9-0 the day before.
I know of several 8#-10# + bass caught at Walnut Creek.
