  1. ...or into the wind
  2. Doing a lot better than the last 2 tourneys, currently showing 4 in top 50. It would be nice if Casey Ashley decided to wet his line today though.
  3. The Lazer Sharp is a step up from the standard Eagle Claw, no? I would think the 3x has meaning to a better standard than cheapest off the shelf as well.
  4. TW 25% off does appear to include all available colors of Rage Craws. $4.12 a pack
  5. don't over think it? for us newbies, ignorance is bliss.
  6. I hope so, or I'm not sure what this is.
  7. I'm a level younger in the Cub Scouts, but what I noticed during our fishing derbies, was that for the most part, the boys were covered. No one threw anything other than worms, bread, hot dogs, etc. No lures. What we did need, was additional hands to help land/unhook/bait, and additional rigs for the brothers/sisters that also wanted to participate. I'd check and make sure whatever unit you're donating to would make good use out of it. Once a year trip? Several throughout the warm seasons? Chances are there are several units in your area that have different goals in mind.
  8. I'm ready to fish? Then I put all my gear down and start tying on hooks and weights and bobbers and worms for the little ones.
  9. Good thing I purchased the Sharky II somewhere before Christmas when they had their Amazon deals going. At the time of my purchase, I could have gotten a President along with the Sharky for what the OPs looking to spend. So can't complain too much.
  10. we don't have to "here we go again." he actually specifies what he's looking for in the original post.
  11. there are two 30s for sale in the Flea Market section - FYI
  12. Don't know what to offer for being on a boat other than to bring paddles. However, you can get in just as much trouble getting lost hiking through a spot to a new fishing hole. Doesn't matter where I'm going, or what I'm doing, I've got a few essentials packed that can take up a lot less room than you might think. Make a list and start carrying one for each category, and a backup/alternate as you see fit. Consider the 10 C's plus some... Confidence and conditioning top the list. Know what to do, how to do it, and be prepared physically to accomplish it. Then pack up something to cover consumption, cutting, combustion, cover, container, cordage, candle, cotton, compass, cargo tape, canvas needle, communication, and care (first aid). Include small bills and coins in case you do get somewhere, as well as spare keys. Add a small work kit or multi tool and bring a hard copy of important contacts. Those are my priority items for work, travel, play and I add to it depending on the activity.
  13. That was a lot more fun than I expected. Refreshed throughout the work days on Thursday on Friday. Checked once or twice over the weekend. Good first timer results on my end.
  14. here's hoping they call this one soon. All 5 appear to be making the cut right now according to Basstrakk updates.
  15. Ike better have some McNuggets stashed somewhere on his boat. Drawing a blank today as well.
