  1. All spinning reels create line twist, but some reels are better at preventing/managing it. Shimano and daiwa are at the top of that list.
  2. The 35 size pflueger is the perfect size for bass fishing imo. It's has more cranking power, higher retrieve rate, and a larger diameter spool than the 30 size.
  3. Yep, they are really nice. The luvias is even better! I have the JDM luvias and it is basically a zion framed certate, and it's made in Japan. The stradics are good but the ballistics and luvias are a big step up imo.
  4. I have both. They definitely don't have different handles. There was some info going around that one was forged and one was cast which isn't true, even bantam said they have the same handle on tackle tour. The drag star I'm not sure about, never really compared them. What's the difference between the two? The curado has 3 arb bearings and 2 stainless steel vs 5 stainless steel in the citica. Doesn't necessarily make them better. After owning and using both I wouldn't pay more fore the curado. There is zero difference between the two reels performance wise.
  5. You can get the citica I new on ebay for 115 bucks. It's the same reel as the curado I.
  6. The ballistics are really nice reels, I have 2 of the 3000 size that have been solid.
  7. I use mainly 35 size Pfluegers and 3000 size daiwa spinning reels. They both have a longer reel foot than the 2500-3000 size shimano's. Doesn't look like they would even work with that rod to me. I like a foregrip on spinning rods also, the Avid's are my favorite.
  8. Look at the spinning rods. Why would both hammer and falcon only offer moderate action spinning rods? How is it a coincidence that the both have a 7' medium power moderate action spinning rod with idental handles and guides? The bucoos are phenomenal rods, theese hammer rods would have to be really special for them to be in a different leage.
  9. Anyone else notice how similar these rods are to the original falcon bucoo micro rods? Other than the handles they seem identical...guides, actions, lengths, same red stripe on the first guide wrap.
  10. The d series were awesome reels! Mine are still smooth as well. Haven't really liked and shimano casting reels since.
  11. Is that as tight as you could get the reel seat hood? Is that a 2500-3000 size stradic? I'm not a fan of the way that nut on the hood sticks out over the blank like that.
  12. The Sustain fg is overpriced. It's a stradic fj with the rotor from the ci4+. It's no better performance wise than those 2 reels. It does have a fancy aluminum drag knob though. People will still say how much smoother it is than those two reels though. Lol Nope, same bearings as the stradic fj and the ci4+ fa.
  13. Spinning reels, the old blue original daiwa certate. Casting reels, the original daiwa zillion The most durable reels have ben my daiwa ss1300's
  14. I would get a daiwa fuego on ebay for 75 bucks and pair it with a lightning rod. Spend the rest on line and baits.
  15. Avid vs imx? You can buy a 200 dollar avid or 300 dollar avid, it's up to you. The older and classic imx is a different story.
