  1. I used to fish the jr size, but have been using the regular super fluke as of late. I believe I used a 1/0 or 2/0 EWG hook on the jrs.
  2. I love both, but as others have said, the rage bug seems to produce better for me, but the cost effectiveness of the pitboss is unmatched.
  3. SK Rage bug is amazing for anything really... Texas rig, carolina rig, trailer, you name it. I also use the SK rage craw and the paca craw.
  4. Only trying to make a point that a $31 savings is pretty substantial, especially if you are buying multiple rods. I think driving 20 miles for the sole purpose of saving $31 ($93 in my case) is simply put, a smart financial decision. Not sure of many instances where you can save almost $100 for about an hour of your time. Thought I'd mention that I directly pass 3 Wal Marts on my daily commute to work which adds zero $$ spent in gas to pursue these rods. And have 13 Wal-Marts within 25 miles of my house.
  5. You're saving $31 per rod. I'd have to drive 300 miles for one rod to not save money. I plan on picking up 3 rods, so I would have to drive from Louisville, KY to Orlando, FL to not save money.
  6. Just checked all the stores in my area on walmart.com. The stores around me have the 6'6" MH baitcaster for $9 and the 6'0' M spinning for $7. All the others are $39.
  7. I have the Fury 735C and love it. Will be perfect for 3/8 oz and 1/2 oz jigs.
  8. That's what I'm mostly curious about too. The material they use for the actual frog. Is it soft enough for the trokar hooks to even be worth it?
  9. 10. This is a new lure I found on TW... Only place I've been able to find it and only place I can find any information about it other than some iCast videos. There aren't any reviews on TW yet... Anyone here used it yet? I know it's not prime frog season yet, but it looks intriguing. Has trokar hooks which sound awesome for a hollow body frog. And I like the colors, especially the all black. They are listed at $8.49 on TW. There are always colors that are on backorder, so I know people are buying them.
  11. Been throwing stanley ribbits mostly, because wally world had them for $2 a pack. Stocked up on them. But my favorite is the V&M bayou bullfrog.
  12. I haven't been able to catch many fish on lipless cranks, yet I still try and throw them in hopes I'll eventually figure them out. I have a few of each of the below. All are 1/2 oz unless noted. SK RES Super Spots Rat l traps booyah hard knocker and one knocker spro aruku shad jr. H20 xpress rattlin' T (5/8 oz) H20 xpress LCR (3/8 oz) Since I haven't caught many fish on these baits, I don't really have a favorite. If I had to choose, it would probably be the 1/2 oz spro, just because its smaller than most 1/2 oz, but still can launch it or the booyah one knocker.
  13. Not trying to be hostile, but stores can't have sitewide sales all the time. TW has a massive sale on Black Friday and a decent sale for tax returns. Some stores never have a sitewide discounted sale, much less two of them per year.
  14. Green Pumpkin Green Pumpkin Blue Flk Black Blue Flake Junebug Watermelon Red Cinnamon Purple Flake
  15. I personally have never seen red on a crawdad here in Kentucky. Doesn't mean they aren't out there. I used to catch dozens of crawdads as a kid at all times of the year and not once saw any red. Obviously didn't catch them as much during the winter, so maybe that's when the red comes out. I've seen some very small orangish accents on some, but not red. Have seen all shades of brown, some that were almost black and greenish browns.
  16. Academy is having a sale on Berkley mono. Trilene XL, XT and Big Game are $3.49 a spool. Also a sale on SK crankbaits. KVD 1.5 and 3XD are $3.99. Bags of powerbait are $2.99.
  17. Big bite squirrel tail is still being sold. Saw them at several stores over the last few weeks and they are still on TW.
  18. ^^ This! Love mine for shallow to mid cranks.
  19. I highly suggest the 7'2" MH-Regular Daiwa Tatula rod. It may be listed as regular, but its more mod-fast, leaning closer to fast compared to other brands. It would be a fantastic all purpose rod. This rod, along with my other 6'10" Tatula are my favorite rods. Light, incredibly sensitive and great backbone. Amazing rods for under $150. You can normally find them anywhere from $109 to $130 if you search online.
  20. I use 30 lb braid on my swim jig/chatterbait/spinnerbait setup and 50 lb braid on my frog/big jig rod.
  21. I liked your comment because your "+" number was 666. But also a good comment none the less.
  22. Strike King crankbaits and jerkbaits are on sale at Cabelas. All are around $4-5.
  23. I like the 40# power pro too. Normally have to buy it online as most of the stores around me don't carry it. They have 30# and 50#, but no 40!!
