  1. Had to share this sweet ass deal I just got. Picked up a new (barely used) NRX 894C JWR Green Rod for $225 at a pawn shop on the IL/WI border. This rod is d**n near mint. Best fishing addiction deal I have ever got. ?
  2. Since you are looking to throw both spinnerbaits and topwaters I would go with the mbr782
  3. If you are going with the Mag Bass Series I would go with the 782.
  4. X2^ The IMX SBR812C or 813C would be my first choice. I prefer the MHF for spinnerbaits.
  5. I've heard and read good things about these rods... All around or under your price point. Falcon Bucoo Fenwick HMG Abu Veritas St. Croix Mojo Bass or Bass X
  6. My first two baitcast reels were an Abu Silver Max and a Revo SX. Both were great, user friendly, beginner reels.
  7. Thats awesome!! Great looking fish... can't wait to get down south for another shot at a pig like that!
  8. I'm a fan of the Yum creature baits. The Bad Jamma and the Bad Mamma both work well as pitching baits. But the Yum Wooly Bug has been one of my top producers this fall. Not pitched, but cast out and retrieved slowly like a senko.
  9. Finally... World Champs!!!! What a game. What a series. What a Party it's going to be.
  10. Obviously, loads of great options for you. But first, what is your budget? And second... what type of technique (s) and/or lures do you intend to use this setup for? i.e. are you looking for an all around setup or a technique specific setup such as a soft plastic or crankbait setup? There are other variables involved when selecting a good bass setup so the more info you can provide the more we can help you out with your decision.
  11. I'm very sorry for your loss my man. I hope the best for you and yours. Let's go Cubs!!
  12. Welcome Bud! New member myself... are you looking at a baitcasting or spinning setup? For soft plastics: I use a Loomis IMX852C JWR paired with a Shimano Curado 201IHG for daytime soft plastics... A Loomis BSR852 with a Shimano Stradic 3000HGFK for lighter soft plastics i.e. smaller senkos or creatures And a Loomis E6X 783S SJR with a Shimano Saros 3000FA for nighttime plastics i.e. larger senkos and beavers. This setup and night time fishing have landed me my two biggest Largemouths of the season and both came on the same night in October. ? There are so many great options that will fit your style and budget. If you can be patient and diligent you can find some awesome deals! I go with Loomis rods and braid with fluoro leader for the sensitivity with bottom contact baits be it casting or spinning equipment.
  13. What's going on fellas? New member here from Downers Grove.
  14. Today... 7' MLF Spinning 6'6 MHF Spinning 6'8 MHF Baitcast Tomorrow... ???
