In the market for a new punching rod. Is the loomis Imx 7'11" worth the money for it? I'm using a 7'6" right now and don't know if I'd like the longer rod. Is there any other viable options in the 7 6 range?
looking for a finesse rod and cant decide between a kistler helium 3 7'0" light medium heavy and a dobyns champion extreme 702c. any experience with these rods? how well do they handle shakeyheads, weightless wacky worms, weighted wacky worms, etc?
I think you just made up my mind. The 7ft med extra fast is what I believe I'm looking for. Thank you for the help!
I believe the med light would be too light for my taste.
200-250 range. I'm actually looking for a rod for an aldebaran. By light do you mean action whise or weight? I'd like it to be fairly lightweight. The action is what I don't know about. I've always been a fan of the heavier action rods

Looking for a casting rod to throw weighted wacky rigs and shakey heads. Looking for something 6'10" to 7'. I want the shorter rod for the ability to skip docks. Any help is appreciated!
I actually have a champion 734 that I really like. Just don't know if the 3 power is as light as I want. Being a military I get a really good discount on dobyns from the factory.
Yeah I knew t was the mag bass and a jig worm rod. I just hear people talking about how the tapers are. I'm the same boat as you about buying rods. the actions are one of the things I'm pretty particular about
I've heard good things about the zodias, just never had the chance to handle one.
I like the the idea of the new megabass, not sure if I want to go with something as short as 6'7". Had a 6'6" mh rod and for the life of me couldn't get a decent hook set and I don't know why. I generally stick with 7' or longer. But I've heard the shorter rods are better for skipping docks.
How is are the actions on the glx? I like the idea of having one for this reel. I'm not familiar enough with loomis to know how the different styles are. Such as the jwr or mbr
Yes its a 51 bfs xg or hg. Can't remember off the top of my head
How are the imx's compared to glx's
So I have recently gotten an aldebaran and can't decide on a rod to go with it. Since it's the nicest reel I own I would like to pair it with a fairly nice rod but nothing like an nrx unless I can get a stupid good price on one. I plan on using it for weightless worms and possibly some shakey heads or small Texas rigs. lookinh for something in the 200-250$ range. Any ideas?
yeah theyre all over toledo bend and rayburn, if youve ever watched older fishing shows and theyre using balloons as bobbers theyre more than likely fishing deep with these for big bass. ive seen them easily 12 inches long swim by in schools. its insane, super hard to catch with a dip net too haha
