  1. i use the 1/0 for 4 inch worms and the 2/0 for 6 inch. i also like the light wire for drop shot.
  2. hmm .hard to say. they seem about equal to me but then you kind of learn the feel of the rods you fish with.
  3. i have expride 72 ml. its got a soft tip but it transitions to a stout backbone in a hurry. i use mine to drop shot roboworms with a light wire gammy hook texas rigged on grass edges. the orrochi shakey head is a good rod for this also.
  4. bass will hit blade baits and jigging spoons at other times besides winter. any time they are schooled deep they are a possibilty
  5. i started using x9 on all my spinning reels 2 years ago. works great for me.
  6. idk you all do what you want. maybe its because the lakes i fish are primarily clear and heavily fished but there are lots of days here where you can chuck and wind for hours and ger nothing. out on a wacky senko and put it where a fish lives and your getting bit. if you wanna get casting practice with another bait have at it. i want my pole bent so im fishing what i can get bites on.they cost a little money but i work hard, when i go fishing i want what gives me the best chance to catch fish. if it costs me 2 dollars more a day so be it.if i had to catch a fish like if my life depended on it id take a wacky rig senko no doubt.
  7. i never use them. i hate it when a perfectly good day of fishing gets ruined by fish biting my lure. its so boring having to reel in a fish after he bites my bait. who would want to use a lure that gets bit when alot of other things wont. im much too accomplished an angler to use something that catches that many fish.
  8. 4 inch power worm or 5 inch cut tail worm (they run small) texas rigged or on ssome kind of slider head or similar has caught tons of smallmouth for me.
  9. i would stick to the same size but its up to you. you may also want to keep one the same and upsize the other to make sure they dont get "locked". man i had some days on the deep little n in the early and mid 90s . still catch fish on them but for whatever reason i smoked them on them back then.
  10. as long as its glx or nrx you wont go wrong either way.i have a 72mh expride b that is my main t rig rod . i have no complaints and a t rig is in my top 3 fish catchers.
  11. i work in interventional radiology,( think cardiac cath lab) high stress especially now when every hospital in the country is short staffed.id never call in sick and leave my team hanging but sometimes the nerves get raw and i tell my boss im taking off thursday or whatever day works best because if i dont its gonna get uly in here. usually its in the spring when they are really biting.
  12. xzone lures slammer on the lightest hover rig head. theyve been crushing it!
  13. yes there is a ton of fish in the river.it seems to be just loaded with 12 to 14 inch fish. the bigger ones are there in good numbers just spread out. reat place to fish and just relax and get bites. i should fish it more than i do.
  14. idk. i mean its fishing so ultimatley just do what makes you happy. but as a northern guy whos used spinning gear all his life i just dont see a reason to reinvent the wheel. for light baits and light line i just use spinning gear. ive got about 10 of them. i like them and use them like second nature like ive been doing since i was six years old.
  15. yes i fish duncannon to the statue often. good fishing and mountains BUT there are train tracks on both sides and a highway. i would do sunbury south ,maybe take out at riverview camp ground.
  16. yeah thats the other thing im not sure i have the stones to go blasting through a foot of water filled with boulders.
  17. no doubt a jet is the ultimate river craft. i have a prop boat for other waters and the wife was not going for 2 boats.
  18. which model hobie do you have? i call my kayak with my torqueedo a poor mans jet boat. lol. i use the motor with rock gaurd to go upstream, pull it up and paddle through the super skinny water, then put the motor back down and continue on.
  19. when i was losing fish on a ned i went to a farm pond that has a ton of bass but nothing over 2 pounds.you get alot of bites so lots of practice. ive found for me its best to reel til you feel the weight of the fish then a firm but not hard sweep while reeling at the same time.7ft medium light 10 pound braid 8 or 6 fluoro
  20. i ifish the susky alot in summer. you have to pick and choose your spots . i mean you can fish right by three mile island, not exactly scenic. but you can fish from sunbury down to the statue and i think its pretty scenic. i catch 20 to 30 most evenings fromall sizes 10 inches to about 18. 18 to 20s are there but a litttle more rare.i catch 1 or 2 every couple trips though. it may not be the best river in the world but i tell you what compared to fishing lakes around here in summerits a god send.
  21. if i fished in anormal state i would have one of those instead of my electric powered boat.as cast by fly said i could free up one half of my garage eyc.
  22. yes when im specifically ripping grass i use a medium heavy fast.
  23. i have a whipsnake and a shakeyhead both in the orrochi line though. to me the whipsnake is too light for an all around rod. if you step up to the imx in an 853 you would have a more direct comparrison. i also have 2 expride b models in 7ft medium that i prefer to both of them. i wouldnt buy a gcx in any model although they say loomis on them they are not real loomis quality.
  24. crank up the live scope and get the damiki rig going. now i dont have live scope but that seems to be the way they do it nowadays.
