  1. i havent broken it down and i really dot want to thin about it but probably 2 to 3 thousand.
  2. i fish the electric only lakes around baltimore. loch raven, liberty, prettyboy. maybe i can get you out on those lakes in my boat. alot of grass in those as well but in the boat its much easier. fishing can be tough but you can have really good days too.do your bass clubs fish tidal?
  3. where in maryland do you live? maybe we can hook up and i can show you some places.
  4. i like the loomis rods but there is something about the p5s to me that just makes them feel alive in my hands.
  5. not so they could all go kayak !!
  6. i gotta say i dint watch his video i just saw the tittle that said they would pay for it and go broke. i use 360 all the time. you can certainly see fish and you can see the direction they a re swimming by comparing where they show up but it lacks the actual live feedback of ffs.
  7. yeah the adermine is more like the shakeyhead in the orochi line but not quite as stout. if you go p5 i would go windbuster.
  8. I dont think this will have any major impact . most of the guys do their work with 1 sometimes 2 transducers. its more for the optics off a boat looking like a NASA control room than anything. i think that is to eliminate the saltwater transducers that can see into the future.
  9. it doesnt really show fish moving because there is a lag because of how long it takes the sonar to do a sweep. you can see the general direction that fish are moving if they dont leave the coverage area between sweeps.I dont know why milliken is losing his mind. he doesnt fish npfl . its not like the government banned it its just that leauge. seems reasonable to me , if your the new guy on the block dont try to beat the big boys at their game. make your own game.
  10. i own the addremine. it was built to be a dropshot rod that can handle open hooks as well as texas rigged small worms like roboworm etc on a dropshot.i also fish neko rigs ned rigs wacky senkos in light cover on it. i love it for all those applications but i wouldnt call it versitile. lacks the strength for shakey heads finnese jigs etc.
  11. its the live capability that causes the issues. not neccesarily the direction.
  12. 26. not all bass rods. some rods i dont even use some years.
  13. i run all humingbirds simply because i understand how to use them. that said when i purchase ffs this winter it will be garmin. a stand alone unit that is only for live.
  14. yes i have noticed prices starting to drop and lots with alot of inventory
  15. He and i fish the same river him from a jet boat me from a kayak. to me the auto pilot will struggle. now you could take it out which may help.i use a paddle kayak with a torquedo motor. the facy that the motor can be lifted is key.i will get in shallow riffles that need to be paddled through every time no doubt.also the lithium battery is very light which keeps the kayak from drafting too much . as far as the jet boats they have to stay on plane in that shallow water.keep an eye out for them and try to give them room.
  16. i use a 1/4 alot for fishing scattered weeds on a deep weed edge but if i want to get down in the thicker part of the weeds ill go to a 3/8 or 1/2. that usually gets it done. on deep rock piles or brush piles usually 3/8 but sometimes a heavier weight with a faster drop will trigger more fish, just depends.
  17. omnia just got a huge resock. i got some yesterday but they may be gone now.
  18. all rods arent ratedor created equal. my two favorite drop shot rods are , shimano expride 72 medium light, megabass adermine which they rate as a medium lite plus. both have a fairly soft tip but stiffen up quick and i use both for exposed hook and also texas rigged with a roboworm rebarb hook.
  19. i like the tungsten minima jig too . and i like that little tungsten football jig they make also.
  20. FOR ME, i think ffs is a step too far. if other people want to use it go for it. we all want a different experience from our fishing, and i may change my mind later. i sure do love my si, di mapping and 360 though. with those i can locate structure and fish position myself on said structure or fish and assure that my bait is going into a likely fish holding spot. is there one there and will he bite. well thats the fun of it for me.
  21. jig head minnow and no you dont have to have ffs to catch fish that way. and the smaller one works well for me on a drop shot.
  22. i like them and use them but not exclusively. probably the only real benefit of the tungsten in grass is its a smaller profile then lead so less area for grass to hang on. but thats minor. probably do just as well with a lead dirty jigs. but they are a good jig. now for a dragging football jig i do believe tungsten is superior.
  23. the d shad is heavier and will sink faster. caffeine shad is heavier than a fluke but not as heavy as a shad.you can use a weighted hook like the other guys have mentioned. i personaly dont like to but thats just my opinion.. youcan also put a small swivel about a foot up the line which will help sink it and also help with line twist.
  24. i second these. not a super stout hook but i fish it on bait casting with 14 pound flouro no problem. much stouter hook than the kietech.
  25. if you wanted to go to the p5 the addermine is a great rod for drop shot.
