  1. fluke 6th sense flush, caffine shad, d shad. depending on the sink rate i want.
  2. ive done that with ned heads. slip it in up past the collar. if the hook is bent or the point broken your gonna throw it away anyway.
  3. 12 to 15 pound braid to an 8 or 10 pound leader. medium light or medium spinning rod ,3/32 to 1/8 neko weight. number 1 vmc neko or owner sniper weedless wacky. as for baits i like straight tail worms, the grande bass airtail wiggler is outstanding. senkos even craw baits like a rage craw. its intended to be a finesse technique, light line and weights.when i get a bite i dont slam them.just reel and raise or sweep the rod.
  4. i prefer the rain to bright sun. now i dont want a downpour buy light to moderate rain, awesome.
  5. i went with the hi vis x9 on my spinning rods and love it.
  6. a couple things here. they could be fish on beds just picking it up to move it as you stated. could also be panfish.when bass hit a fluke to EAT it they usually do so head first. you can pull the hook point through then just skin hook it so thay when pressure is put on the fluke the hook point pops out. also as stated bend the hook open just slightly and to the left or right just slightly. lastly you could nose hook it. if they eat it by the head youll hook almost all of them. lastly as said they wont spit it out vey quickly make sure you take up all the slack and then sweep hook set.i like an owner 4/0 screw lock hook.
  7. i started using a 54 ah dakota lithium to run my 48 volt ultrex this spring. i fished 5 12 to 14 hour days before i recharged it at 40 percent. now of course on a bow mount your not running long periods of time. as far as warranty o think its 5 thousand cycles now the thing is a cycle is every time you charge. unlike lead if you dont need to charge you dont, the dakota has a gauge on it. so basically as stated its a lifetime. you can also purchase a gauge that installs in line on your wiring and connect via blue tooth with your phone. it will tell you EXACTLY how much run tine you have left your amp draw while running and your current voltage out put. dont listen to the nonsense about lithium batteries from people who have never used them. im not saying they are for everbody but for a person in your situation with a small boat its definetley worth considering. also most reputable lithium companies include a charger. BTW im in now way associated with dakota. i paid the hefty price tag just like everyone else.
  8. i use the 1/0 and buy the weedless. if i decide i dont want it i can always cut it off. lately ive been using the owner sniper neko hook in 1/0 holy moly does that thing stick en and the titanium weed gaurd works really well. expensive though.
  9. river fish will usually bite well all through summer. what you will probably find is that as the weather warms the fish will usually prefer faster current. now they probably wont be right in the heavy current but near it. behind rocks grass beds etc. anywhere they can rest but watch the current which is what brings them their food.
  10. no but ive thought about it on some of the rods i really like and use for multiple techniques. then again some rods are so useful i have 2 anyway. for me the 72 medium heavy expride is so versitile i have 2 of them. btw i have 6foot 8inch ltb ned rod yhat im not using and is for sale if your interested.
  11. i fish the susquehanna alot and some other smallmouth rivers in this area.you probably do the same. a 610 to72 medium light spinning rod is a must for me.
  12. ive caught so many wacky thats how i usually start. if the cover is real thick i will go texas rig weightless. or if i think i should be getting bites and im not.
  13. correct 2 fish finders will work with just a cable. trolling motor and 2 finders will require a switch. definetley get the link alot of the features of the motor work through the finder so they need to be linked. also be patient last i heard they are all hard to get.
  14. i have one also and really like it. ive never fished an nrx but i have several exprides and the levante matches up pretty well. i was fishing a ned rig the other day and could feel it every time the bait hit a soft bottom.
  15. which model do you have? considering the warhorse for football jigs carolina rigs etc.
  16. exactly. when you are extremely familiar with your set up and know it intimately its more sensitive to you than anyone else.
  17. i throw the same combo on my 72 mh expride with 14 pound sunline. casts great and catches fish
  18. idk i got some mccoy this year and used it on a a 72 medium heavy expride. i have sniper on an identical outfit and fishing them both side by side i cant tell any differences between the 2 in sensitivity, stretch, number of bites etc. maybe my fishing skills just arent advanced enough to see the benefits of fluoro idk. but i get the feeling that the whole fluoro thing is more talk than actual truth, and while i dont mind paying for something thats really better im not sure it is.
  19. its not a matter of need i mean lets face it few if any of us are fishing to put food on the table. i could probably get by with 5 or 6 combos. but i like rods and reels. i have 4 medium heavy casing outfits. i have 4 medium action spinning rods.i have 4 medium light spinning rods. i have 3 cranking rods etc, etc. i dont take them all with me all the time but they are my toys , my passion. im sure in the next year ill add a couple more. i work hard. i have money in the bank. i have money set aside for retirement. all the bills get paid every month. i work in a major hospital, i see people my age or not much older on the edge of death every week i like fishing tackle , and i buy more than i need and i dont apologize for it.
  20. look and graph alot more before i start fishing.not starting on a place unless i see fish or top notch structure.
  21. looking at 7 ft medium spinning rods. i already have an expride in 7 medium and an expride b in 72 medium lite. want another 7ft medium and was gonna get another expride but though i mat try a 782 or 783 imx pro . anybody have any experience with both?
  22. my favorite is my megabass orrochi xx whipsnake. its also the most limited rod i own but man its fun to fish with. when a ned rig or light drop shot bite is on that thing is a blast.
  23. part of the reason the 110 works the way it does is the lip design. its thin which allows the water to flex it and help give it the action it has. the hooks are designed like that because in japan jerkbaits are usually fished on light spinning tackle. i replace them with the gamakatsu aaron martens hooks which dont affect the bouyancy. that said their are other good jerkbaits for less money.
  24. sounds to me like knot failure. or the the line was nicked. ( if were ruling out toothy fish) I personaly use the san diego jam with flouro whenever possible just because i feel like i tie it better.
  25. ive spent 80 percent of the money ive earned on fishing. the rest i just wasted.
