  1. Lake Mittry =]
  2. Due to unusual weather activity for this area (Yuma, AZ) we decided not to take the boat out. I did however go out fishing again early this morning. Used a Shad Rap SR-5 and within a few minutes pulled this little guy (2.2 lbs) out of the water. I would have taken a better weight picture but I had a hard time getting the trebles out of the fishes mouth and wanted to hurry so that I could throw the fish back before any damage was done. I was going to post in latest catch thread but decided I will just leave it here. =]
  3. Fished Lake Mittry this morning from 6 am to 11 am off the shore from YPG (second boat launch) all the way back to Betty's Kitchen. Used worms, jerk bait, and jigs, not even a bite... Maybe it's because it's raining, it almost never rains here... Oh and the weeds/moss has really grow to annoying proportions, but my son and I fished through it any way. Now if you will excuse us, we are going back out on the boat... but we are thinking Lake Martinez... =]
  4. Beautiful fish! Nice catch!
  5. See you soon, Ill leave some fish for you.
  6. Hi, as mentioned last week we took the boat out with an early morning start. What a -->crappie<--- day... not the fish. I fished a green crank bait and switched to a silver blue jerk bait. Nothing but small bass (6 to 10 in.) was caught and then only one was 13 inches out of the 5 or so hooked. They were so small that I stopped taking pictures... haha Insert other media
  7. That's awesome! Congrats!
  8. Thanks everyone. I went out today and purchased a digital scale. I purchased the scale not only for the fish but so I can also set drag on my reel more consistently. I ended up with a Berkley digital even though I wanted a Rapala, but they did not have one and the Berkely had a fish on it so I think its ok.... Now I would like to get some kind of bag because I really do not want to put unnecessary holes in a fish's lips, but that is for another thread. Thanks again. I am headed out Sat. on the boat, will post report unless there is not one to post.
  9. Awesome that you bring up frogs... I borrowed one this week and bought one at Bass Pro Shops to use because a user on this forum submitted a report along with a Youtube video showing he was catching fish with them. I did not even get the chance to use a frog bait... The fish around myself were jumping although just a few of them. Feeding for winter? I tried worming and top water buzz bait with no hits. Only on a crank did I get a bite. I plan on taking the boat this weekend and maybe Ill try flipping and frogging and post up. As I was fishing on shore I did not expect much, the decent fish was unexpected. Ha! my grammar, ......where's my coffee......
  10. Yes, I was gonna post it but decided I was going back out. I tell you secrets later!
  11. Left the boat home today and fished on shore. Did not expect much, kinda like the two little ones posted below. When I am gonna leave momma hit. What a fight!!! No scale, Im guessing 5-6 lbs. from shore.
  12. I really like the Shimano Curado, as old as it is I am buying another this week. One day when I backlas... *cough* try..yes, try another rod and reel I may find one I like better. I still have years of fishing ahead of me to allow new fishing weapons, but some oldies are still goodies. How dangerous to ask what to get next, that's like a synonym for what is best... lol Be sure to let us know and post on what you have decided, as I just notice this post is 3 pages and 59 strong... Sorry if it's been answered.
  13. Hello again, Yesterday and today I went to Fortuna Pond. Water +- 55 degrees. Yesterday there was no bite as posted in my introductory post...I did catch a green jerk bait! Today there were two bites. One caught by an old man down a ways, +- 10 in. Bass on a 2.5 - 3 in purple/silver jerk bait with three treble hooks. The second bite was by myself dragging a purple/black worm. It looked to be a little bass when it jumped out of the water and spit my hook. =[ Today though my daughter ask to go fishing. Its was her first fishing trip. She looked to be doing well but as you can see in the picture when giving suggestions she had some choice words... and a fist. lol Sadly though, not one sunfish bite... Till next weekend, maybe I will take the boat out to Lake Mittry or Lake Martinez.

  15. Hello everyone, Thanks for having me on these forums. I have been fishing off and on for at least 10 yrs. More so on lately. I have so much to learn still. I live in Yuma, Arizona, therefore I get to go fish on the Colorado River, Mexico, Lake Havasu, Lake Mittry...to many places to close. I can't wait to get to see all the fish caught from other members! Also the info on different fishing areas and fishing reports! My daughter wants to learn to fish tomorrow, therefore I am off to setup her new fishing pole. Thanks again for having me. =] I used info from this forum to sign up for the MTB pro box. Will will see how it goes! =] I went out this morning and all I caught was someone else's jerk bait from junk under water... not one bite!! >: /
