busy guy

It has been a long while but made a trip this past weekend to TBend, we fished Saturday, Sunday and a couple of hours of Monday. We caught fish shallow (2-6') on wacky worms, flukes and red eye shad. Weather was not as bad as we thought it might be but we avoided it for the most part and caught some fish. The wind was tough most of our trip so not much main lake stuff, we stayed in coves protected from it. Probably averaged about 20 fish a day except for Monday. Some fish still spawning believe it or not. Hope this helps.

Question for Catt and others, is it just me or is the fishing pressure making the bite generally tougher on Toledo Bend? Reason I ask: I have been going to TB for many years in spring (with my bass club) and fall and usually catch good numbers and occasional big fish. In spring of this year our very seasoned club struggled by our normal standards as far as numbers, and last week same deal, low numbers but caught 2 fish over 6. I just remember getting more bites. We are seeing a ton of boats especially in the fall compared to just a few years ago. I have heard from some friends that live on the lake that its been a weird year, whatever that means. I know timing, weather, etc, play a big part to. Anyway please feel free to comment.

Fished housen today bite was slow for me but got lucky and boated a 8.0#. Only caught 3 other fish. All but 1fish caught on 10.5" worm. Have to be close to deep water to get bit and I had several bites Ithat were very light and did not hook up. Try again tomorrow. Good luck everyone! BG

I am new to the forum, been watching for a while, a big thanks to everyone on here with all of the helpful posts. I will attempt to contribute but as my name indicates, I am a busy guy with kids in ball but I will be at the bend next week to give it a try. I usually go in the spring and fall, 2 trips each year for now. I'm from down south so usually more of a bank beater but trying to get out of that mode for this trip at least some. Plan to start shallow then move off and fish Housen, Lowes, indian mounds and maybe 6 mile areas. Just wanted to say hello and thanks. BG
