My 140lb dog Hank loves to chase after flies. There have been many times we’ve been woken up by what sounds like a dam horse thumping around our bedroom chasing after flies and moths. He’ll catch them, spit them out, look at them dead on the floor, then lay down and go back to sleep.

He actually found one for me. He was swatting at it. I shot it, it dropped on the floor and he started playing with it. I told the wife a lot of guys have bird dogs, well I have a fly cat. Thankfully he’s not a retriever! ?

There was one on our window and I was a couple feet away and shooting through the blinds but they were deflecting the salt so I poked the gun through them, shot, and it exploded the fly! Left one heck of a splatter on the window. ?

I present to you, the greatest invention ever made! I’ve always wanted one and I decided to pull the trigger (horrible horrible pun). My confirmed kills is quickly climbing. ?

Oh for sure, here too. We got really lucky in the sense that we had a place to rent month to month from our friend. The unlucky side of the deal was our house wasn’t finished in time for our rate lock window so our interest rate went up which increased our monthly payment $210/month. I was not happy about that and had some words with the builder because it was totally unavoidable, he just didn’t want to pay some winter rates to get a few things done. He tried blowing smoke assuming I wasn’t up to speed on construction, excavating, and utility installation. He got quiet pretty quick when I told him what I do for a living and I called him out. He found an extra $4k to put towards our closing costs too. ?

I’ve watched little kids play soccer while at my son’s football practice and it is quite the show. Heck his first couple years of football were the same. The best to watch is 4-6 year olds playing hockey! They’re skating about a foot a minute and try to check. Benny Hill music worthy for sure.

Growing up and into my early 20’s I did roofing, siding, a brief plumbing apprenticeship, Heating (didn’t stick around long enough to get into the cooling side), framing, concrete work, and minor electrical. My dad has been doing interior finish work for 30+ years, and did frame work before that. Over the years I’ve met and stayed in contact with guys who do these trades for a living so if I can’t do it I can count on them. The one who has always eluded me is a sparky. I’ve never became good friends with an electrician, but I can do minor wiring. I’m pretty fortunate. I’m the opposite of you this year. We sold our house that was built in 2008 I believe and into a brand new house. The house we sold was a lake house cottage at one time, then sold a few times, then we bought it. It wasn’t maintained very well before we got it, so it felt like I was constantly doing something to get it where we wanted it. So now this new house is like a breath of fresh air. Clean slate, everything is brand new, and under warranty. My only battle now is getting a lawn established which is taking longer than I’d hoped for but I’m winning the battle.

Facts

A couple years ago I received a box of jigs from @deaknh03, that’s when I learned the old saying is true…..nothing in life is free. The worst part, I haven’t caught a single fish on those jigs. Deak won that deal!

Spent my Father’s Day gift card and the shipment finally arrived.

6poundbass killing the tackle wheel at football camp this morning. @Darren. this camp was put on by former Bills DT Junstin Zimmer. He’s from our town and comes back in the summer to put on a camp for the kids.

How about, “ego fishtical” Mrs. 12poundbass came up with that about 16 years ago.

You need to go to the podiatrist. As a kid I had them on both of my big toes. I removed them myself like you and they’d always come back. They both got infected real bad and one the doctor removed was almost the size of my thumbnail. He put a chemical on both nails that kept the sides he removed from growing. It’s been almost 30 years and no issues.

That dude is crazy!

Cortisone shots are helpful but according to my wife’s previous doctor she said they should only be temporary due to long term effects and added damage from extended use (I’m not a doctor so take it for what it’s worth). A friend of mine who’s 52 just had both his done over the last year (full replacement) and wished he had done it sooner. The second one wasn’t as smooth sailing but he’s still glad he did.

Failure on both parts in my opinion. Her customer service skills are lacking quite a bit which sounds like things went south from there and you and the staff fed off each other’s negative reactions. Had this happened to me, after getting the response from the counter lady I would’ve gone around patiently asking people if they owned the vehicle. If you rely on other people you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. The picture thing I think was a bit creepy. JMO

They are, but he’s managed to weasel his way into me liking him.

I didn’t want a cat, the wife gets one anyways, and now he’s glued to me. Thankfully I get paid by the hour and not by the report I type up. ?

Well you can probably check off a lightning strike. My guess is lightning bugs on Redbull. ?

That’s unfortunate. The silver lining is you recognize it and the vicious cycle will be broken. Too many times it isn’t. My wife’s father wasn’t the greatest and she and her siblings don’t have a relationship with him but my brother in-law followed in his footsteps and is a ? dad to our nephew.
