  1. Asphalt is more common in the north because of the freezing ground during the cold months. It’ll flex and move with the ground and last long than concrete. Plus, it’s usually cheaper. Concrete does two things 1: hardens 2: cracks
  2. Like @LonnieP said, it should’ve had an inline fuse to protect it. Get another batter so you’re not just using one, hook it up, and go fish.
  3. Interesting you mention this. My wife just had a customer they other day tell her the other day she loves regular field corn. She boils it in sugar water I guess. Interesting.
  4. I think that’s my issue. I haven’t had the boat wet once this year. It’s been crazy busy around home and exceptionally busy and stressful at work and I think it’s taking it’s toll on my motivation to go fishing.
  5. I hear ya. Liam starts middle school next week. He went from 9 weeks premature and weighing 4.5lbs, to 5’6” 106lbs in a VERY quick 12 years!
  6. Probably. The water is too cold excuse doesn’t work during the summer months for Mr. Loon.
  7. Looks like he has it down pat. Next weekend you’ll have to let him drive the Super Duty.
  8. I’m guessing they’re either in their golden years or they realized kids were too expensive and said no more.
  9. I heard this the other night while doing yard work. I didn’t look at my phone in time to see who it was. I thought it was lost forever. ?
  10. I make sure they’re thoroughly cooked. Brats too
  11. We’re doing burger and bats. There was one night we splurged and did T-bones to the tune of $57. They turned out great on the pellet grill! We’ll wait for another time to do it again.
  12. I did this! ?
  13. Never have but did get a little uneasy when we left the calm waters past the break walls heading out to Lake Michigan. The waters were rough at that time but my stomach got uneasy for about ten minutes. The rest of the day I was fine except for the lack of sea legs! The worst part was that night in the hotel lying in bed. I was riding those waves all over again. ? My wife she does, and I’m afraid 6poundbass will probably be. That’s pretty impressive considering you made a living riding waves.
  14. I’ve been pretty intrigued by the Templars and Masons over the years. The story, secrecy, and engineering skills over centuries is just plain awesome! I agree with Dwight, go to a nearby lodge or temple and see where that leads. Keep us updated!
  15. My daily driver, I’m pretty fortunate I have a company truck which is a 2020 Colorado. Not a bad little truck. My boat puller which has had very little use this year is a ‘10 F-150 fx4.
  16. Happy birthday A-Jay!
  17. I understand ballast. My numbers were a bit off. So midsummer draft is 34.5’. From what I’ve read that’s fully loaded. So are you saying fully loaded it could release ballast decreasing the draft as it goes through St Clair?
  18. One of the freighters we recently saw go through the Soo Locks was 1000’ long and had a draft of 37.5’. I’ve been tracking it using an app I have and it just left Cleveland on it way to Deluth. It goes through Lake St Clair which I know is a shallow lake. I looked up the depth of the shipping channel of St Clair and it says it’s 27’ deep. So we have a lake with a depth of 27’ and a ship that goes through with a draft of 37.5’. What am I missing here?
  19. I have several. 1: Information overload. I read and read and read, then I get overwhelmed and go back to what I’m comfortable with. 2: I stick to my few comfort baits. I did break this habit and try other baits…..but then I get comfortable with those and tend to stick with them. Vicious cycle. ? 3: Second guessing. I’ve always struggled with this, from sports to life decisions.
  20. Welcome from the middle of the mitten.
  21. So I just looked it up because I wasn’t 100% sure myself. Piebald can be all white though generally they have some brown coat like we’re use to seeing. They will have pigment on their nose, eyes, and hooves. Albino have zero pigment which gives them the pink eyes, nose, and hooves. So the picture I posted is a piebald whitetail.
  22. I don’t think it’s an albino because he nose and eyes aren’t pink. They do have some there with the pink eyes. He is a whitetail. All they had there were whitetail. I wonder if it’s an all white piebald?
  23. Pretty darn close to a unicorn. This guy lives his life at a deer farm in St. Ignace.
