  1. Yup, we got sleet yesterday here. I’m not ready for this. I like the color change on the trees and the cooler temps 50s-60s but fall missed that memo and we’re in the 40s and 30s for overnight lows.
  2. You’ve got the Grand River all over in the area and I know there’s smallmouth in it but I don’t know if they’d be biting. If you really wanted a good time go to the 6th st dam in downtown GR and try your hand at some steelhead. I see plenty of guys out there recently fishing for them. If you’re really wanting smallmouth I’d try the Grand by Allendale/Eastmonville or some of the parks in the Grand Rapids area (I’ve never fished these areas but they look enticing. If you’re up for a 30 minute road trip you could try the Flat river in Lowell or Belding. I’ve caught plenty of smallmouth out of the Flat but not in these areas but have talked with plenty of guys who have. @MIbassyaker is from the GR area so he might have better advice where the smallmouth might be. Like others have said, bundle up! ?
  3. I could fish a different lake every day for a month and not drive more than 15 minutes from my house. Expand out to 30 or so minutes and you’d be close to doubling the amount of lakes.
  4. I know. I build them and Vexus 2-3 times a year and have every year for the past few and keep seeing the price tag go up. It’s painful to see.
  5. I’ll make you one heck of a deal. You buy my ‘06 G3 for $34k and I’ll deliver it to your front door for free. Then with the money I make off from it I’ll head to my local Lund dealer and pick up a new Renegade. The two Garmins are not apart of the deal. If you want those add another $5k so I can add 10-12” Garmins on my Renegade. If you’re interested I’ll go fill the truck up tonight after work and head out in the morning. ?
  6. Me too. Our “creeks” up north are maybe knee deep. The biggest lake around me I think is around 400 acres. That’s a pond for the southern guys.
  7. I keep saying that every year but I keep going backwards. Apparently I underestimated the amount of work I’d have to do around the house after moving. Thankfully the boat is paid off or else the Mrs. might be having a different conversation with me. ?
  8. Pretty sad this year especially now, knowing I need to put the boat up for hibernation, especially since I never launched it once this year. ?
  9. Good point. I never thought about this.
  10. Quaker Oats for me. I do it on the stove, add a bit of milk, and some brown sugar. Sometimes I’ll make a piece of toast and put some oatmeal on a corner. Good stuff!
  11. I understand what you’re saying. I guess I was referring to fishing tournaments and derbies in general.
  12. Correct but it also says metal detectors which lead can be picked up by a metal detector. The problem with that though is what if a bass, walleye, whatever species swallowed a hook or sinker? Are we going to be killing fish because a metal detector detected metal inside the fish?
  13. Well it appears law enforcement is taking this seriously. https://www.wkbn.com/news/local-news/investigators-seize-boat-in-hermitage-from-man-accused-of-fishing-scandal/
  14. Like previously mentioned, the only way I’ve been able to is approach it from downwind. This means you’re casting into the wind but it gives you (me anyways) the best boat control. I hate fishing in the wind! ?
  15. The Mrs and I attended a bachelor bachelorette party a couple weeks ago that was in a refurbished barn turned into a venue. The tables and bar were live edge so the wife asked my dad if he could do it and he didn’t disappoint.
  16. Do they still put up a fight when they’re in the zombie phase?
  17. Neither team is looking stellar tonight. Jackson isn’t exactly selling a big contract tonight.
  18. No gas mask, your mouth remains closed to ensure you only breath through your nose, and you have two options: 1: you do jumping jacks the whole time or 2: you hum the song “staying alive” by The Bee Gees Let’s see someone hold their breath through either of those. ?
  19. After a day of scarfing down pork and beans, and Mexican food @A-Jay would allow people over to check out the Menderchuck wallpaper……if they dare! ?
  20. So the technical term for a 5th, 6th, ect wisdom tooth is called a Supernumerary tooth.
  21. Nope there were 5. I guess I can’t say for sure it was an actual wisdom tooth but it was an extra tooth I wasn’t supposed to have. My friend had 10 taken out he wasn’t supposed to have. Must’ve been something in the city water. ?
  22. Good game for the Bills. Next week will be an awesome game if it’s anything like last year. Go Bills!
  23. I had 5 cut out when I was 17, was not fun. To add insult to injury three days later we had VIP passes to a Senior PGA event. A ton of great food for free I couldn’t eat! ?
  24. Is Eric and Grandpa hoping mom and Grandma get lost in the corn for a few hours?
