You might be surprised. While doing my research I looked at a couple lakes I fish. Both less than 80 acres. One of the two you need to drive down a two track for about 1/2 mile to the launch and you need 4 wheel drive to load your boat. Both of these small lakes were available! I was extremely surprised. Goes to show you ya never know.

A quick crash course on "fish finders" 2d sonar and "down looking" (down imaging/ down view) imaging helps you to see what is beneath you. "Side seeing" (side imaging/side view) helps you to see what is off to the side of your boat. With this you see below and to the side a certain distance up to and over 150 feet to the side. I would not go smaller than 7 inches as far a screen size goes. What I would do is read, read, and read more on what each feature can do and how it could or could not help you. The more you inform yourself the better decision you'll make. I can tell you my opinion and everyone else can too but they're only opinions. We are all ready and willing to spend your money for you, but if you don't know what they do it won't do you any good. Hope this helps, good luck, and don't hesitate to ask anymore questions.

I was just in a West Marine last week and got to check the Echomap 73sv out and I was impressed. For the price sale or no sale and the mapping you get and the fact you can share waypoints between 2 units is hard to beat. The imaging isn't too bad either.

It's been nice to see the progress you've made from your first video this year to your last video (I think your best so far) last week.

What are some good airbrush set ups for beginners? I'm looking to get into doing replica fish and maybe a crankbait or two. I've seen some on line that have the compressor 3 airbrushes and paint for anywhere between $100-300 but I don't know if they're any good or those are high end (I doubt it). What works for you guys. I thought the $100-150 range wasn't too bad.

I've never done this before so you'll have to excuse my ignorance. What exactly is layering as far as painting goes? I think I know but figured I'd ask.

Anybody on here paint replica fish, or know anybody who does? I've been pondering the idea of picking this up as a hobby, and maybe make a dollar or two. I've been reading and searching on line a little bit about this and I'm pretty interested. The start up cost is pretty reasonable for begginers, and it looks like something I'd enjoy. If any of you do this or have done this I'd like to hear with you. If you personally know of someone who does it, I would like to ask them a couple questions if that would be ok . I'm wondering if it's more of a sponsorship issue? Maybe companies don't see a high probability of getting a good return on their investment therefore don't see the value in sponsoring a B.A.S.S. open in the West. Just thinking out loud.

I just turn my TM as needed. Like JFrancho said you get tuned in. I even have a wireless TM and only use the key fob. I manage. If I get a fish I'm blown all over and have to reset. The whole thing isn't pretty to watch but I manage.

I don't know how far the run was for Ott but I remember reading after his win that those boats don't go fast at all. It's a gamble running those boats. You lose speed therefore you lose fishing time. Another big gamble is the potential to destroy a lower unit. I saw at least one of the guys running a tunnel hull carried a spare lower unit with him. Either way I wouldn't care or see it as an advantage if someone used one.
