  1. Keeping with the theme of my last two pictures here's 6poundbass with the KVD of drag racing. Most probably won't have a clue who he is but I know there's a couple NHRA fans on here.
  2. Is a disagreement between two vegiterians still called a BEEF? ?
  3. The closest DSG to me is an hour away and they don't sell fishing stuff. It's all baseball, football, soccer, etc.
  4. So far so good. It's only been two weeks. I don't beat up my reels but at the same time I don't baby them. The fish don't care if they have scratches. ?
  5. You won't be disappointed.
  6. It falls faster than a Senko, but not like a rock.
  7. I watched the Live reveal. I wanted Nolan to win, that being said both of those young guys are class acts. For Nick to say he's sure Nolan will be up there again goes to show the maturity of him. The fact that both respected each others space on the lake speaks volumes of their maturity. Some of the Pros need to take a page out of both of these guy's book. Well done to both of you guys!
  8. Did anybody else's heart almost stop when @everythingthatswims pretended to set the hook with about 20 seconds to go? Dude you did awesome! If you're looking for a president for your fan club give me a shout! Seriously though it's been a ton of fun following you this year, and I see big things for you in the future! Great job!
  9. Over the past couple weeks I've been trying out the Berkley Powerbait Max Scent soft plastics. To be honest the older Powerbaits have kind of been a little stinky which has left them out of my regular line up. So when I received these in the mail I wasn't too optimistic. The General: I chose the General which is a 5" stick worm. Upon opening the package, you guessed it, curiosity got this cat and I stuck my nose in and took a whiff. Not bad at all, in fact there isn't much scent at all. They are wet, so you can tell they've been saturated in the Max Scent formula. From the package they're strait and true. The front of the package has a nice recommendation on what it's best paired with. They suggested a whacky rig. I went with a 3/0 EWG Gamakatsu and T-rigged it weightless. The bait glides through the water nicely. I caught several fish this way. What I noticed was after catching several fish the General held up nicely, so much so the Senko queen herself (my wife) took notice. For my wife to consider anything besides a Senko is huge! Back at home I took the General and a Senko to my sons pool that's about three foot deep for the ultimate test. Side by side I let the two go. The General has a faster fall rate which was to be expected. That being said the fall rate wasn't fast at all, in fact it was right where I want a stick bait to fall. Not too slow you could take a nap waiting for touchdown, and not too fast is drops like a rock with no movement and flies by your target fish. It swayed back and forth and had a sweet little shimmy to it that drives the fish crazy! At just under $7 for a bag of I believe 9 worms that will catch multiple fish per worm it's a great deal. On top of that the movement is perfect and the scent isn't going to leave you sleeping on the couch waiting for the smell to wear off. Creature Craw: I didn't get as much time with this bait but it reflects a lot of the qualities the General has. It seems to be more durable than some other creature baits on the market. The pinchers have plenty of movement on them which is a good thing. The ribs along the body have plenty of contour so it should be easy for the bass to quickly hone in on. This retails under the $7 price tag as well so you really can't go wrong. The Powerbait Max Scent line up is a hit with me. I'm going to check out what else they have I can load up on, and it looks like Berkley might have converted the Senko queen!
  10. I wouldn't take that kayak out of the truck ever and just drive around all day parking, waiting, and taking pictures of what people do. You need to start a new thread dedicated to just this and update daily or weekly. ?
  11. I stopped at Subway to grab a sandwich get into the truck turn it on to 4 minutes of commercials and was bummed. Finally it came on, and I see he has over 12 pounds of bass and is leading! I almost choked on the sub! Last I checked he has 2 pounds or so. I watched his rod when he set the hook on that drum and thought 5 pounder! To quote Mark Zona @everythingthatswims "IS A DAG GUM STUD!"
  12. It's your mother in-law @everythingthatswims is more important at this point. J/k ?
  13. Today is the final round and they're already fishing. @everythingthatswims has one in the boat, his competitor has got himself a quick limit. By looking at how the last two days went today should be a tight competition between the two. Live starts at 9:30 for anyone interested. I encourage anyone who can to tune in and root him on. Win or lose what a hell of an accomplishment for this young man!
  14. My couch is comfy. Don't ask me how I know. ?
  15. Link isn't working.....on my end anyways.
  16. I talked to a guy I run into quite frequently at work, he's a walleye nut and he said the walleye guys love this line.
  17. I spooled up with the ten pound test in the black. I tied on a jig and a 3/0 EWG hook with it. The knot strength seems really good. One time I got hung up in something good with my EWG and I was tugging and tugging and the knot held up! Casting was troublesome at times because it was fairly stiff. I chalked it up to it being new and worked through it. This was the first time I've used black and I like it a lot. The waters I fish are stained with at most a 12" visibility which made this line hide itself pretty well. The sensitivity felt like it was there too especially with the jig. The line size seemed to be bigger than the 10 lb braid my wife has on her spinning reel. The other downfall is it has remained pretty stiff which is kind of a let down. That being said I didn't get to use it as much as I wanted to. I'm the type of guy who gives everyone and everything a chance so I'm going to keep it on for two more trips so I can say I give it a fair shot, and I'll update everyone with my results. There are positives which I've pointed out. There are good qualities to this line and I really do hope is softens up for me. I'll report back on this after I give it two more outings so stay tuned. 12poundbass
  18. It wasn't until Glenn pointed it out in bright red letters did I see what I did. LOL apparently my phone and the auto correct aren't as serious about fishing as I am. Maybe it's time for a new phone. Going to edit again (for the third time) so hopefully everybody got a laugh. I sure did. ?
  19. Nolan must have bagged another. He's over 10 lbs now and I believe 2+ lbs ahead of his competitor, who is culling.
  20. Hmmm which crabkbait are you referring to?
  21. For the past couple weeks I've been trying out the Abu Garcia Revo SX gen4 Baitcaster. I chose to go with the 6.6:1 RH. The reel retails in the $160 price range which in my opinion it a pretty good price for this reel. It has the looks, the feel, and the function to be a higher priced reel. It has the two break system which was really nice and very easy to adjust. There is a lever on the bottom of the side plate. You drop the lever turn the side plate a quarter turn to the right and plate comes off exposing the internal brakes which were east to adjust and made a big difference when casting. The other nice thing about the lever to remove the side plate, you can easily remove your spool which make things very very convienant for tying your line or cleaning. My other reels you have to unscrew the bar in front pull that out, remove the side plate, well you get the hint. It's as simple as drop the lever, quarter turn, and there's everything you need. That was well thought out! I put this reel on my KVD Tour crankbait rod and this reel and rod launched the crankbaits a mile. The brake system is so effective I'd made quite a few adjustments because I'm not used to such an effective braking system I was over adjusting (user error). Some slight adjustments and I was launching lures like a pro. It handled the crankbait without and issue, felt really smooth, and didn't wear me out. The next time out I put it on a MH Abu rod I used for throwing soft plastics. This time I made subtle adjustments and quickly had it tuned for my plastics, and worked great. The drag gave me no issues. The handle size was in my wheel house, I prefer a slightly bigger handle, and this was perfect. As stated earlier $160 is a really good price for this reel. It's well thought out, smooth, and convenient for spooling, adjusting brakes, and cleaning. Abu Garcia has a winner with the Revo SX gen4! 12poundbass
  22. I just watched Bassmaster Live while on my lunch and @everythingthatswims is still leading his competetor by 2-3 pounds. He's throwing a jerk bait at the moment. I wasn't able to see him catch anything and he must be in a bad cell service area because the camera was cutting in and out then finally lost signal for a 5 minutes then I stopped it. Hopefully he can keep this momentum going the rest of the day. It appears his competitor is struggling in the wind today.
  23. He's off to a good start that's for sure. It looks like he's got a pattern figured out.
  24. There aren't too many things that compare to nitromethane on a summer night! 6poundbass got his first dose of nitro this past Saturday in Norwalk, Ohio. He loved drag racing before but now the kid is hooked. 10,000 horsepower 300mph in less than a quarter mile, what could be more fun?
  25. I don't believe it. I think they were right handed and just trying to give us perfect specimens a bad name.
