  1. I agree completely money isn’t everything. I too took a pay cut to go where I am now for two reasons. 1: I’m home more to actually watch my son grow and 2: the ability to climb the ladder quicker. I’m a lot happier now, than I have been in over 12 years in my profession.
  2. My friend works for the USDA and I was quite surprised when he told me how little he makes.
  3. Holy 14 year old thread! ? I’m sure @J Francho will come up with something creative for this one.
  4. Well if you’re leaving Ann Arbor and traveling east on 94 you’ll never make it to Chicago! ? Sorry I knew what you meant. I’ve never fished them but check out the Kalamazoo river around Battle Creek and check out the St. Joe river and see if you can tie into some brown bass. If you were to take 94 east you run into some really good smallie fishing on Lake St. Clair.
  5. That’s a bummer, but is understandable. Like you said the lake is going nowhere.
  6. We got skunked today. We did a lot of idling seeing what we have down below. I was pretty disappointed with what I found or lack there of. Oh well I’ll hopefully get it figured out this year.
  7. That’s exactly what I have on my boat. I purchased the boat that way, today was really the first time on the water with it. I also have a Garmin 73DV I bought before I bought the boat. I haven’t installed yet. That’s going up front. The Helix 5DI I haven’t decided what I’m doing with it.
  8. Too much gas?
  9. It went pretty well. Unfortunately we didn’t launch until shortly after 6 and on our lake the no wake time is 6. We idled around for a while, once we got to the main part of the lake I couldn’t resist I opened it up for a few seconds. I didn’t want to press my luck so it was brief, no big deal I’ll run her good tomorrow. I’ll probably do a lot of idling tomorrow looking at the Helix trying to find fishy spots. I was surprised to see the water temp was 52. I’m a little skeptical on that reading, it is a small very shallow lake so maybe.
  10. Finally got the boat launched about an hour ago. Going fishing in the morning. 6poundbass was throwing a line out while I was trolling around getting acclimated to the boat and.......
  11. I grew up walleye fishing. I wasn’t a big fan of it because all we did was troll, boring. My stepdad is the walleye angler and he always asks why I waste my time on bass.
  12. Awesome! Can’t wait to see what she’ll produce.
  13. Maybe for liability reasons? There’s been a few on here who have had great experiences being a marshal so I wouldn’t worry too much.
  14. What I find amusing is all of you complain about Ike. Guess what? he’s a marketing major. He’s done something that no angler ever has in the history of bass fishing, he’s possibly brought more to bass fishing than any other angler and the best yet you all are talking about him! He’s laughing all the way to the BANK! Mission accomplished in my book. ?
  15. I’m not sure. I saw they were racing pet rocks on another site, so naturally I checked that out before watching the grass grow.
  16. You said “seem” to be trespassing. Are you assuming they are, or do you know they are?
  17. Well that was an exciting lunch I took. I turn on Bassmaster Live to see Brandon Card and Hank Cherry bed fishing. I decided to save myself the boredom, I shut it off and watched the grass grow in the local Subway parking lot. ?
  18. I watched Clark Wendlet on the live mix during my lunch. He was bed fishing and had been on this male FOREVER! He finally caught it and it was about 2-2.5 pounds. I’ve never bed fished and after watching that I won’t, don’t have the patience lol. I do do kind of like the Live Mix the little I’ve watched it. It’s almost as if you’re the marshal.
  19. Well done!
  20. I vote bluegill checking it out.
  21. Hey guys, there’s a thread here that is all about the Tracker Heritage and Tracker Classic. I believe they’re the same boat just different badging. Head over there and ask those guys. They’re all helpful and have made some cool mods to their rigs.
  22. Good times! Looks like you didn’t make out too bad. I have a scar at the bridge of my nose from from it getting split open the last 3 years I played. A separated shoulder that’s starting to bother me 18-20 years later, and 2 concussions. We had to wear a mask, and when I played drop in hockey I still wore it. Hockey is one fun sport and will toughen a person up real quick.
  23. I’m guessing that would be their feeder system. BPT only took a couple guys from the FLW and FLW was pretty tight lipped when the whole BPT was announced, while BASS wasn’t as quiet. Coincidence? ?
  24. Nice rig! That looks like a walleye catching machine!
