  1. Nice hogs, congrats! I love me a good top water bite nothing better!
  2. I’m no PETA supporter but I feel bad for those poor fish now. They don’t stand a chance. ?
  3. The bottom left of the screen says it all. MEGA!!!!!!
  4. Looks like he left some awesome doughnuts on the pavement too. We moved this past winter, so my son had to wait a couple months, but he really enjoys not having to ride on a rough dirt road too.
  5. It appears the stars are aligning in your universe.
  6. Yup everything I’m seeing says the Ghost TM is right at the $3k mark.
  7. I thought they were similarly priced?
  8. So much for competition driving prices down. Sounds like a sweet trolling motor but d**n that price sure is high!
  9. I have a now 9 year old son who’s really getting into fishing now that we’ve moved on a lake. I’ve tried giving him helpful tips here and there but I’m dad I’m sure most of you know how that goes. One day I come home from work and he was geeked because he had caught 6 bass all on a Wacky rig. I hadn’t taught him the wacky rig so I asked where he heard about that. He said Andrew Flair videos. I had no clue who he was, and sure didn’t know he was apart of the Googan Squad. Naturally I watch a couple videos to make sure they’re ok for him to watch. He talks fast and is all over the place with the direction of his videos and tries to be a little too funny but oh well. My son has learned about the wacky rig, when tried to teach him to slow down and watch his line it kind of fell on deaf ears until he saw Flair doing these things. He’s learned about baits to use in spring and summer. While the Googans may not sit well with most they do with kids and kids can actually learn from them. I’ve never watched the others and won’t unless my son does and only will to make sure the content is ok. I have put my son onto Fish the Moment. That kid has very very informative videos and has a very good way of explaining things and stays on topic.
  10. The launch isn’t the greatest and very narrow as you can see but well worth it. To quote Mr. Zona @Ztrain “this is where leprechauns and unicorns live” and it didn’t disappoint.
  11. Yesterday was a miserable day! It was 91, very very humid, and hardly a breeze. The heat must have gotten the best of us and we decided to try it. We decided to hit another one of our tiny state land lakes, and stay away from boating traffic. This lake has always been special and it didn’t disappoint last night. We only fished 3 hours before the heat and humidity wore us out. The three hours momma bear managed 11 nice bass, I hooked two, and 6poundbass managed 3. Her trusty Senko was her choice, Liam was throwing all kinds of soft plastics, and I got one on a spinnerbait and the other came on my favorite a frog. I had a ton of blow ups but the mats were a little too thick. Biggest went just shy of 3 and the smallest 1-15.
  12. Correct. It’s been about 12 years since I’ve installed gas in a home but back then threaded pipe was still being used and the flexible metal pipe was just starting to become popular. I don’t believe plastic is used past the meter here either.
  13. Maybe if you ask @J Francho nicely he’ll dress like this guy and he’ll stick out like a sore thumb.
  14. Sarcasm that a plastic gas main is no match for an auger? Or are you serious that you didn’t know plastic natural gas (I should have mentioned the natural gas part the first time)mains existed? All natural gas main will be switched over to plastic (with the exception of high pressure) in the not so distant future. Plastic mains have been common practice since the late 70’s. Most distribution lines (that feed houses, buildings, etc.) are 60 psi or less, most being less than 20 psi. Plastic is more durable, safer, and less maintenance than steel or cast iron. We still have cast iron mains active in Grand Rapids that date back to the 1880’s. They only have about 2 psi on them and have several patches on them but they’re still supplying gas. Those are the trouble spots in the winter and early spring when the ground moves from frost.
  15. A 10 inch auger and 2 inch plastic gas main don’t mix and creates an interesting situation for a couple hours. It also creates a lot of paperwork and a very very expensive bill.
  16. Yup I’ll be sticking to my lake tomorrow and the weekend. Amarillo, Texas. Freshen up on your George Strait for the stop in Texas.
  17. I see you’ve bought property on your favorite lake. ? It May be 99 days until you’re physically there but I imagine there are days where you’re already ‘there’.
  18. Have you taken the prop off to see if there is any fishing line in there binding things up?
  19. Yup. Snail mail, and they wonder why they’re not making money.
  20. Not a state fact but as our nations birthday is only 2 days away did you know the Declaration of Independence was actually signed on July 2nd? It was signed on July 2nd but wasn’t made public until July 4th which is why we celebrate it on July 4th. To add to this the Declaration wasn’t completely signed by everyone until sometime in early August due to travel time needed. So happy actual birthday today America! ??
  21. These were smaller bass. I’m guessing the larger the bass the more you’ll feel the strike?
  22. I put the boat in our lake this past Saturday. Although it was really hot and muggy the wife, our son, and myself loaded up and hit the water around 5. Sticking with my resolution to stay away from the Senko this year I looked for something different. I tied on something I haven’t used in over a decade and brought back some good memories of my teenage years. The Rebel Pop R paired well with my new Kastking combo I got for Father’s Day. We stayed out until sunset. I caught five with the biggest being around the two pound mark. My wife caught 8 with her trusty Senko. My son caught 7 with his wacky rigged Berkley Powermax General. I left the boat in over night and after breakfast Liam and I headed out for a couple hours. He stuck with his wacky rig and caught three. I used the Pop R again and got bluegill hitting it, and managed one small bass. I threw my spinnerbait too and managed two from that. I never felt those strikes on the spinnerbait, I saw the line move and that was it. Is this normal? I also managed one from my favorite presentation, the frog.
  23. It’s hard to believe that 9 years ago today at 11:50 our son was born 9 weeks early via emergency c-section at 4lbs 8oz and spent 52 days in the NICU. From monitors, IV’s, and tubes to a happy go lucky kid who can give us a run for our money. The sayings are very cliche but true, they do grow up fast, We are going to miss this, and we’re trying not to blink. Happy birthday to 6poundbass!
  24. Thanks for joining. Great bunch of guys here!
  25. I wonder if your drain plug isn’t sealed all the way or defective? You can always put water in the boat and see where it leaks.
