The two you mentioned were unveiled two years ago at ICAST. I didn’t know they weren’t available. I guess I wouldn’t hold my breath for a trolling motor anytime in the near future then. I guess it’s been rumored for a few years.

Power Pole is making a trolling motor. There’s was rumors that it was going to be unveiled at ICAST, but they said they weren’t quite ready to reveal it.

I’m a good guide too. I put my MIL on her first bass that went 4-8, my son on his PB pike all last weekend. I’ve put my wife on more fish than me every year for the last 14. @slonezp says my whole family is better than me at fishing, I say I’m a great guide. It wouldn’t be fun to catch all the bass. ?

The Garmin does look like a really nice trolling motor packed with a ton of features! The MotorGuide looks to be a good trolling motor too, with the cable steer and the fact that any brand of graph can hook up to it. I think these two will sell a fair amount in the near future. I too was shocked at how loud the Lowrance TM was, I think that could be a deal breaker for a lot of people even some of the diehard Lowrance guys. Time will tell how well they all sell. I do believe all three have an uphill battle though. The Ultrex has been the only player in the bass market the past couple years. I’m not sure I see a ton of anglers who already have an Ultrex sell them and get a new unproven TM. I think the ones who’ll buy these are the ones getting new boats and the ones who are looking to upgrade. Me, I’m going to save my pennies and wait for the price to hopefully come down on them. Now we we need to see what Power Pole is going to do.

Good video @Glenn! I don’t know how much sound scares fish, but I think having a quiet motor is probably a good thing, and that Lowrance Tm was LOUD!

Didn’t Garmin license the technology to Lowrance?

I’ve yet to catch a smallmouth out of a lake. Hopefully that’ll end soon but they’re not making it easy.

Good informative video. At first I thought the price was sky high but after reading about the motor and watching this video and seeing the features it has I’d say it’s probably priced right.

6poundbass caught his PB pike yesterday. Bigger than I’ve caught too. He was so geeked he was shaking. That thing put up a pretty good fight too but he handled things like a pro.

Algae bloom? Our lake just had a nasty one over the last couple weeks that almost completely choked off the narrows to the main lake. Thankfully they came and sprayed Wednesday I believe and it’s cleared things up considerably. I wasn’t launching my boat again until it cleared up.

6poundbass and I hit a local lake hoping for smallies. We got the skunk. We loaded the boat back up came home and launched at our lake. I caught a few pitching to lay downs (first time doing that, it was fun). The wife and MIL took our kayaks out. Later we picked them up and we all squeezed into the G3. I ran the TM and everyone else fished. 6poundbass wanted to try a spinnerbait, I guess that was a good choice because he caught a PB pike and the biggest I’ve seen caught in person. Not 20 minutes later my MIL gets a bite, she started reeling and freaking because it’s putting up such a fight. The rod is bent right over and she hands it to my wife. Long story short I net it weigh it and my MIL’s first bass she ever catches goes 4-8! So all in all it was a good day except nobody paid the guide!

Well how did the night excursion go?
