  1. I know one of the songs he sang while doing Karaoke in Japan. I like my gig as a moderator so I won’t reveal the song. 😂
  2. So I ran into the famous turkey I referred to earlier in this thread. I was driving down one of the streets we are drilling and I see a Tom crossing the road gobbling. As I get closer he stops in the middle of the road and gobbles some more! I roll down the window and he comes up to my drivers side front tire and looks at me then proceeds to the front of my truck. I slowly move forward thinking he’d move but I don’t see him on either side of my truck! I slowly back up for about 60’ and still don’t see him so I know he’s following my front bumper. One of my contractors comes walking up clapping his hands and the turkey scoots out to the side of the road. 😂 Turkey- 2 Cop/me- 0
  3. I’m a simpleton, so I’ll put it in laymon’s term. Bass are smart but they’re also dumb. Take my cat for example, my wife’s pug hates the cat. She’ll attack him when she’s had enough of his games. The other day, she had enough and went after him. He ran away and hid under her mini trampoline she uses for exercise. The problem was half of his hind quarters were exposed, but he thought he was hiding under cover! He felt safe and secure but, was still vulnerable to her. Bass are the same way. They’ll think they’re being sneaky by ‘hiding’ behind a rock a quarter of their size. It works though because they’re camouflaged and because the prey is just as dumb as bass.
  4. Nice work!
  5. Everything looks normal except for the hat! I’m assuming you put the Stormy Kromer up for the season?
  6. Same here. I always hear horror stories about dock owners and lake house owners in other states being complete Karens. My experience has been the complete opposite! Maybe Michigan people are just chill and cool people? 😎
  7. When I was a plumbing apprentice back 20 years ago all we’d use was Sioux Chief. As far as life expectancy I can’t help with that. Hammer arrestors are code here. Edit* A quick google search shows the Sioux Chief brand will last around 500,000 cycles.
  8. Good to see some green here in Michigan.
  9. @Dwight Hottle hard to tell, the man in the picture is doing the hunting version of long arming a fish. Regardless, that coyote appears to be big and has a beautiful coat.
  10. While I understand what you are saying 100%, you are supposed to identify your target before you take the shot. You can’t just assume it’s a coyote because it’s at night, it’s a dog, and it came into a predator call. To be fair what are the chances a wolf of all things is going to show up especially in an area where there are no documented cases of there being wolves? I’ve watched a ton of the warden shows and I’ve heard them say more than once, “ignorance is not an excuse.”
  11. @gimruis first thing I thought too was how do you mistake a wolf for a coyote? Oops!
  12. G3 Eagle 1775 50hp Yamaha Likes: It’s my first upgrade from a 14’ Johnboat It’s easy to launch even in the small lakes with crap launches Sips gas It’s paid for Dislikes: It’s too small Rod locker is virtually useless Wish it had a padded floor
  13. I saw this today. The DNR said for years there weren’t any cougars in Michigan and they started popping up on trail cameras in both peninsulas. Now wolves! There’s plenty of packs in the UP. It wouldn’t surprise me if they were in northern lower Michigan, but Calhoun is 2 hours south of me yet. Unlike cougars, wolves aren’t solitary animals so there most likely is more. @A-Jay @MIbassyaker thoughts? https://www.mlive.com/news/kalamazoo/2024/04/rare-gray-wolf-found-in-southern-michigan-killed-by-coyote-hunter.html
  14. My contractor pays for the patch and they dug the hole to get the bore head out.
  15. Hank loves his carrots! We found a few weeks ago that he loves lettuce too.
  16. My contractor snapped a rod while drilling under the road. The bore head costs around $5k and the sond that goes in it that gives them their depth, temperature, direction, etc costs around $2k. Each bore rod cost $500. Pretty good reason to sweet talk the city inspector into letting us cut open the road.
  17. Welcome to Bassresource!
  18. Michigan is pretty similar though I’m not sure on the years. I remember my stepdad telling me there was a time where you wouldn’t see them unless you went to the southern part of the state. There was also a lottery. Now you can buy them over the counter in most parts of the state and you see them everywhere. I saw one a couple weeks ago in downtown Grand Rapids on Division street. There’s one in Kentwood who strolls around two major streets holding up traffic, chasing people at the gas stations. He has his own FB page and even made the news a couple months back. I’ve seen him a few times now that I’m currently working in that area. One of my coworkers has a video of him last week fanned out in front of a cop car while the cop of blaring his siren trying to get him to move. The cop ended up backing his car up. Turkey 1 Cop 0 😂
  19. What do you do when you lose $7000 under the middle of a road? You cut the road open and get that $7000 back of course! 😁
  20. The first season here in Michigan for my zone is April 20 and goes until May 31st. This is shotgun or archery. Last year they were very uncooperative. We’ve secured some new land this year along with the land we hunted last year so hopefully this is the year 6poundbass bags his first thunder chicken.
  21. That’s a nice looking spinnerbait
  22. After piecing back together the 1,856 parts found across the infield, forensic reconstruction specialists determined it was indeed a dove. 😂
