  1. Mine wasn’t damaged on the outside. The crystals just went bad.
  2. I’m not laughing at you, I’m laughing with you sir. ?
  3. Here’s what mine looked like.
  4. Posted the pic on the wrong thread. Mods can you please delete the pic?
  5. I had the same image on a Garmin unit that I traded for this summer. The crystal is damaged.
  6. Next time you arrest a drug dealer take his scale. Problem solved. You’re welcome. ?
  7. It’s nice that they do provide them. I love my Garmins.
  8. They make (or used to anyways) marker buoys with a blinking lights on top, we used those for walleye fishing.
  9. Battling and beating cancer changed my whole life. I was 19 and lucky enough to be in the children’s hospital for treatment. The kids always had smiles on their faces, were always giggling, and playing. Almost all of them had it worse than me. Rarely do I get stressed, not much gets me down, and very rarely does anything or anyone get the best of me. My wife sometimes wonders if I’m all there upstairs. I just tell her I’ve been given a second chance on life and I’m going to make the best of it. So far after 18 years I’m doing a pretty good job of making the best of it. It sounds like you are too.
  10. Well done sir!
  11. The lake froze over last night and as you’ve posted we’re in for some frigid temps next week so 137 days (a little sooner for me) can’t come soon enough. As fast as the days and weeks are going by 137 days doesn’t seem so far away.
  12. The decent temps were fun while they lasted. It’s to buckle down and freeze our hind quarters off.
  13. Can they strike up a finalized deal like this in less than 24 hours? I honestly don’t know. You’d think something like this would take some time, negotiation, and lawyers to get it done. Matt brought it up Wednesday 24 hours prior. The timing of this does make you wonder, but I have to believe it’s more involved than just hit ‘print’ and sign said document.
  14. They have no legal responsibility, moral that’s a different story. What about the Costa guys? Same thing happened to them, the college kids who earned their way, the international competitor. There’s more than just this kid. Where do you stop? I truly believe that’s their problem is where do they (MLF) draw the line? Yes there’s a bunch of billionaires who own this, but at the end of the day it’s still a business. It’s very unfortunate and hopefully they’ll make things right in some way shape or form, but it still isn’t their fault.
  15. The older I get the less tolerant I am of winter, however I still can’t deny the beauty winter can bring. We got some freezing rain Sunday morning that switched to 4 inches of heavy wet snow that resulted in the snow covering the trees. Right out of a Thomas Kinkade painting.
  16. “Fecal consuming smile” I like it, well done!
  17. It sounds like they’re listening to the masses. I wonder how this will change the events leading up the the new event.
  18. This could be interesting and change things up a bit. https://majorleaguefishing.com/featured/major-league-fishing-adds-heavy-hitters-to-the-2020-bass-pro-tour-schedule/
  19. Basically he new during the second event he made a mistake and wanted out. He missed the five biggest format, the fans, being able to talk to his fellow anglers. It cost him (or his sponsors) $50k to get out of his contract. His sponsors supported him going to BPT, but we’re ecstatic he was going back to the Elites. BASS welcomed him back with open arms and MLF/BPT weren’t to happy about him leaving. When asked why he went to BPT he said a bit of peer pressure and the short time given to decide (I found that kind of a weak cop out). You could tell he wasn’t happy.
  20. It was a pretty good interview. He made some valid points why he didn’t like it that I hadn’t thought of before.
  21. Rub it in why don’t ya. ?
  22. The worst I can remember here in my life is 20 inches. The ice is the worst, it’ll shut things down for days! We had an ice event about 7 years ago and the area I covered for work (utility locator) looked like a bomb went off! Trees and utility poles were down everywhere! It was absolutely unbelievable. For whatever reason ice and wind go hand in hand. The worst I’ve heard of was the blizzard of 78 or 79 (a few years before the world was blessed with me ?) Michigan got dumped on and the wind was nasty. My dad has a picture of snow drifts up to the roof of my childhood home! Our area was shut down for a week! He had to walk 2.5 miles to his work to get a tractor from his work to dig out our house. I’ve seen some 4-5 foot drifts but nothing close to 8-9 foot. I’m good with that.
  23. 31 and raining, Ugggg this isn’t going to be good! Thankfully for us the ground isn’t frozen yet or we’d be in trouble, wait I think we still are! Pretty sure the trees will glisten in the morning.
  24. Yep, not looking good for us. Up to .3 inches of ice and 1-3 inches of snow over night. Hopefully the wind dies down before the freezing rain starts or there could be significant power outages.
  25. I just got back in to turkey hunting a few years back. I always used a slate and a box call. Since getting back into it I’ve started using a diaphragm call as well. It takes a lot of time to get down pat. Our season starts in April so I’ll start practicing in early March. I do a lot of driving for work so I’ll practice in my work truck going from job to job. No matter how hard I try I for the life of me can’t get a good purr down, that’s where the slate call come in handy. For slate calls I have a glass and a stone slate call. Hope this helps. What kind of turkey you guys have down there? Osceola?
