  1. Hello from Montcalm county!
  2. Lunker Hunt spider first time out, so far he’s caught 4 in 20 minutes. First top water of the season for him.
  3. Hank got groomed....
  4. Mine is simple. Why am I a dink magnet, and a brown bass repellent?
  5. That’s pretty wild! Bass are pretty opportunistic feeders that’s for sure.
  6. A nice surprise while 6poundbass was bass fishing off our dock.
  7. A few weeks ago I lost a bladed jig when my line snapped. A couple casts later with my jerkbait I noticed line on my hook, I pulled it in and there’s my blades jig. Fast forward to a few days ago, my son was on our dock throwing a buzz bait. He got a pro backlash and his line snapped along with 20 or so feet of line. The very next day he calls me while I was working to tell me he got his buzz bait back! The exact same way I did. He was fishing and had line on his hook, he pulled it in and there’s his buzz bait. What are the chances of this happening, and twice? Have you had similar experience?
  8. He’s set up perfect for what we call a ‘Texas heart shot’ ?
  9. I’ve seen lightning do some pretty impressive things. I responded to an emergency gas leak one time. I arrive and the gas company was already there, so I talk with them. Lightning struck the house, traveled to the gas meter, down the tracer wire (plastic gas service) melted the service about 60 feet from the house, and created a fire ring in the front yard where it was leaking. But wait there’s more! It also traveled through the phone line to the phone ped, which was laying on the ground, and the inside was black with soot. The phone lines were melted together! Still not done. I get to the cable TV to locate that too. The lid to the cable TV ped is laying 15 feet away from the ped. It appears the ground wire in the cable TV ped did it’s job in saving the cable main, but the force of the lightning launch that lid in the air. These peds are locked by the way. That’s by far the craziest thing I’ve personally seen lightning do with my own two eyes. I don’t screw around with lightning, especially working, considering the equipment I use is basically a lightning rod. Lol
  10. Fish the moment is a YouTuber who is good at explaining sonars (he uses Humminbird I believe). As far as which brand to get, it’s a Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge deal. Decide what features you want, research the brands and make your decision. The more you educate yourself the better off you’ll be.
  11. It’s apples and oranges. I’ve never used either, but I had a wireless Motorguide for years which has a lot of similarities to the Xi5. The foot control sucks royally! The response is slow and it’s not as sensitive as a cable steer. Save your money and get the new tour Pro. You won’t regret it.
  12. I’ve fished it a few times years and years ago. We saw some giant turtles swimming around in there, didn’t catch a fish though.
  13. Hey the caddies still wear them at the Masters. The big question for the night is, underwear or commando under the jumpsuit? ?
  14. Speak for yourself, I look like a white Shrek!
  15. I bought my wife a pink Cabelas spinning combo about 11 years ago for her birthday. We went out that morning fishing, and she had a dink bass on and was about 10 foot from the boat when out of nowhere a decent sized pike came and took her bass! There was a big blow up, followed by her screaming, followed by a big tug, then a broken line, more freaking out, and me saying “that was awesome”!
  16. Gman just announced it on his Live today that the 2021 Bassmaster Classic will be in Texas at Lake Ray Roberts.
  17. There’s a guy that either fishes the Opens or FLW that wears them, a red one in fact. I believe he’s a kayak manufacturer?
  18. I just upgraded to a 17.5’ G3 last year so I haven’t fished our bigger lakes too much. I used to just fish the tiny state land lakes around our ‘old stomping grounds’ before last year.
  19. Ha ha, yup! It’s been a long time! What a small world!
  20. Pad Crasher for sure! After a long winters nap, my trusty stead and I got reacquainted tonight. Still going strong after about 10 or so years (maybe longer). I’m starting to realize she’s getting worse for wear and I’ll need to order another. I’ve lost this thing several times and obviously gotten it back. I’ve caught countless 4 lb bass, and even a few pike. This frog and I have a ton of good memories and will go on to life a good life in retirement. PS: It even produced a 1.5-2 pounder tonight.
  21. Wait a second, are you from Stanton? I graduated with a Matt Moser. Anyways, to answer your question, I live on Lake Stanton so naturally I fish that quite a bit. I also fish, Dickerson, Derby, Clifford, and Crystal.
  22. Welcome Matt! I’m in Montcalm county just northeast of you. I’ve fished Wabasis twice, and I work that area almost daily so I’m familiar with the lakes around there and some of the “dock talk” that goes with them. I mainly fish in my area of Stanton. Like @Michigander said we’re getting a decent group of Michigan anglers on here.
  23. You have very nice handwriting! ?
  24. Remember why we’re fortunate enough to fish everyday. Remember why we celebrate this day. Remember why this country is the greatest country in the world. Remember those who gave their lives so we can have everything we have. Gets a little dusty in here when I play this song.
