I see it’s up in the picture but is it when you’re idling around the lake using your graph? You’re getting interference from the left side, it appears the jackplate isn’t in the way so it’s most likely your motor in my opinion.

Looks like it’s clearing the jackplate but wouldn’t clear your motor.

I didn’t think about it until now, what’s more impressive are the camera guys in the boats! 😁

Back in my mid to late teens my good friend and I would go fish a small lake across the road from his grandparents house. It was owned by two land owners and rarely fished. We’d have to hike a quarter mile off the road then pull a row boat another couple hundred feet to the lake. We’d fish this lake 2-3 times a week. Having spent my younger years walleye fishing in northern Michigan, I really cut my teeth bass fishing that lake. I’d give anything to go fish that lake one or two more times. I now have a 175 tin boat and that’s by design. I can still get it into less popular lakes around here when I’m looking for solitude. One lake you have to back down a narrow two track a couple hundred feet to launch which there aren’t many people willing to do that with all the other lakes around with typical launches. The other lake I frequent is another two track is probably close to a mile long and requires four wheel drive when loading the boat. A Canada trip to a secluded lake is on my bucket list for sure.

Finally, an answer to why my fish never jump! 😂

I’ve done it for years. I typically use high vis braid though. Recently I’ve been using Seaguar Bassx line on a few of my setups, and that’s a camo pattern.

With my luck, first cast I’d backlash, line would snap, and I’d watch a house payment go flying into the stratosphere. 😂

6poundbass and I went out Thursday and the skunk was in the boat! We were set up in 5’ tossing the kitchen sink to 10-20’ of water with no takers. As I’m looking around I see what looked like a 3-4lb smallie cruising around in 5’ of water. Then a couple big largemouth in the same area! Still no takers. We loaded up, went to the lake across the road, and we’re catching largemouths in 10-15’ of water. 🤦🏼‍♂️ They do what they want.

Vexus are for the wannabes. Ikon is for the real bass angler. 😂

I took the today and tomorrow off to spend some extra time with the family and do a little fishing. 6poundbass and I headed to one of only a couple lakes around here that have smallmouth and blanked. We did see one smallie that looked huge roaming the shallows which I thought they’d be deeper. We saw a couple big green bass shallow too but no takers. We decided we were going to load up and head across the road to another lake. I put the trolling motor on high and head towards the launch and noticed a bunch of fish suspended 20’ down in 50’ deep water. I circled back, launched a Besotted Lures deep diver, and started trolling again towards the launch. It didn’t take too long and I hooked up on something big! I was really hoping it was a lake trout. After a brief tug of war, I realized it was a slimy pike! Not a bad one though. That was the only fish we caught on that lake. The other lake we ended up with 10 small largemouth.

There’s no doubt it won’t survive our winters and the one “spotted” in the article I posted said it won’t survive. People will do crazy things including building an area in their house to keep an alligator. If I remember right there was a guy down south recently who dedicated his whole basement or garage to keeping an alligator and the thing was huge. It was eventually confiscated and people threw a fit because it was his “pet”. Again….people are crazy and I won’t put anything past them. 😁

Why are you thinking hoax? A small town about 15 minutes from me had an alligator in a drainage pond two years ago. People get them, they grow up, and get let go.

My brother and I bought cheap ones from Walmart about 25 years ago and started having our own paintball wars behind our house. Those things hurt!!!! I’m too much of a sissy nowadays. Airsoft guns too. There’s nothing soft about them. 😂

You should see what smallmouth can do. You catch a smallmouth, put him in the livewell for a bit, then take him out and he’ll be a darker color usually with darker spots/stripes on them. Pretty interesting creatures.
