  1. Lakes are frozen and people are ice fishing here already.
  2. Windchill hovering around zero today. We’ve reached our high temperature for the day already at 14 and it’s downhill from here. A little freezing drizzle over the weekend and blowing snow equals no school today, which will make 6poundbass happy once he comes out of hibernation in a few hours.
  3. @dgkasper58 has it right if you want a case. I personally just take them off when not in use. They travel to a from the lake in my truck and they’re in a drawer in our spare bedroom when at home.
  4. Yup, we cashed out, moving within the school district 6poundbass goes to, and closer to where the Mrs. customers are so they can come to her instead of her going to them. This will allow her to grow her business. This will be our last house for a VERY long time. I’m tired of moving.
  5. That’s what I like about you. You squared things up by revealing the actual name of your big bass lake. There ya go folks, the actual name of A-Jay’s lake is Menderchuck. All these years it was thought it was a bogus name, when in reality it was the actual name. Trojan Horse. You’re a solid dude A-Jay! Yup, we’re going to be just east of that lake, probably three miles away I’d say.
  6. Dude, we had an agreement! We weren’t going to use the actual lake names anymore and only use fake names. ?
  7. He’s a pretty boy, that’s for sure.
  8. He’s a tank!!!!
  9. Once our house is done in April, early May, I’ll have some new waters to explore. One is 184 acres and pretty shallow but I’ve heard has decent bass in it. The lakes/lakes I’m really looking forward to exploring is 416 acres and has a second lake that’s approx 30 acres, and a third that is 50 acres all chained together. As a kid we had a cottage on the 50 acre lake, but that was probably 28 years ago. The chain lakes have bass, walleye, tiger Muskey, pike, and the usual panfish. My stepdad said there’s smallmouth but are few and far between. What I’m looking forward is all the structure on the lake. I’m getting away from the typical soup bowl lakes. As far as lures, I started using lipless cranks a little more last year with good success so I’ve added a few more to the arsenal. I didn’t get into the jerkbait like I had wanted to so I’m going to focus on that as well.
  10. Welcome from Montcalm county!
  11. You’ve fished for crappy for so long you now have their eyes? Your dad jokes are rubbing off on me Paul.
  12. Just can’t stay away from those roller coasters can you?
  13. Squeaky snow and dogs doing the frozen paw dance with these temps!
  14. Ned rig Drop shot To be fair I’m not a finesse guy and haven’t fished them much. I want to make them work, trust me I do!
  15. Thank you all for the kind words, encouragement, and advice! It’s greatly appreciated. I met with my boss today to go over the info he knows and to develop a game plan going forward. For now it sounds like it’s business as usual, and will remain that way for the next few months and while we’ll be under a new name our operation in my area will be a separate entity until everything gets ironed out. This is great news for my team.
  16. wrong thread
  17. 75% of my team is made up of former employees of this company. They all left for the same reason, so I’m not the only one. Here’s the real kicker, our newest employee just left that company two weeks ago. He was pale as a ghost when I told him outside what was going on.
  18. The interesting thing is my boss and even the Deputy Director of locating for our company knew nothing about it until 8:30 this morning. Our customers knew nothing about it and some still might not know. My company is majority owned by one man, so everybody was completely blindsided by this! I’m not sure how I feel about the way the owner went about it. This transaction is in the 10’s of millions of dollars so maybe that’s how it goes when big money is being exchanged. There’s no question I’ll continue to lead my team to the best of my ability. I’m going to be cautiously optimistic, and hope for the best, I’m still trying to process this situation.
  19. So today I get a call from my boss at noon letting me know to tell my team we have to meet at an address at 4 today for a company wide stand down. Our company is in 13 states I believe with around 700 employees. Why could this be about if it’s company wide? I get to the hotel a little early and what I saw in the parking lot made my heart sink as I instantly knew! I walk into the conference room and I see some familiar faces I hadn’t seen in years. I’m walking around with a deer in the headlights look. Our company has been sold to our competitor, which also happens to be the company I left 6 years ago because of the 6-7 days work weeks 70 plus hours a week. I still have a bitter taste in my mouth over that place. Talking with one of my former coworkers who’s a trainer there, he saw the look on my face he said it’s different there now, and to give it a chance. This company is the largest locating company in the United States and is very well established here in Michigan. I was set to be promoted in the next week or two, I’m not sure about that now. This whole thing has spun me right out and that doesn’t happen easily. Time will tell I guess.
  20. I think we all have the occasional birds nest.
  21. Is the older unit a Plus unit? If it is they will share data via an Ethernet cable. If it isn’ta plus unit they will not share data.
  22. Bassresource, YouTube, and Zona’s Awesome Fishing show. Lakes are frozen here.
  23. I’ve always used the second way as a starting point and adjust as I become comfortable with the reel and when I change lures.
