They have been good until the 3rd reel started messing up. I will call for the 4th time when I get off work. Hopefully they keep their word on a reel tech contacting me. Maybe 4 is a charm

I know I don't have the best eyesight but I see some giant smallies in those pictures. The fight like no other, nice pics.

I first bought an Abu Garcia Silver Max from Dick's sporting goods and it did not work correctly, the spool tension and he star drag were messed up. I sent the reel back in and they gave me another faulty reel in which the spool quit spinning and the star drag was not working. I sent the second reel back and they sent me another one that was faulty with a defective star drag and the spool wouldn't spin. All three of them quit working after one use. It's not me, all of my other baitcasting reels are Lew's and I have had zero problems with them. Abu Garcia'a customer service has been good up until now. I have spoken with their customer service department 3 times in regard to the 2nd reel that they sent and each time they promised a reel tech will contact me but it never happens. I feel like they are avoiding because they keep giving me junk. Maybe they don't make lefty reels with same quality as they do for right hand reels since lefties are not as common. I'm am not pleased at all with Abu Alexia. Anyone else have similar problems with Abu Garcia?

I'm a lefty on both spinning and casting. I notice a lot of guys that switch hands after the cast when using a baitcaster but whatever floats your boat.

I will try that, my hooksets are probably too close to 90 degrees. Thanks for the feedback

Whenever I use an EWG hook on soft plastics like flukes, stick baits, and creature baits I get a lot bites but my hookup percentage is very low. I do well with offset worm hooks. I usually throw 3/0 hooks. How do you guys get those EWG hooks to work?
