  1. 7’10” model of this rod should do it for you. Only $99.99 and it’s composite. https://www.cabelas.com/product/fishing/fishing-rods/casting-rods/pc/104793480/c/104764680/sc/104823180/cabelas-tournament-zx-crankshaft-rods/1933023.uts?slotId=7
  2. When you find a deal like that you buy the rods and figure out the technical stuff later.
  3. There is plenty of line capacity. It holds 100 yards of 14 pound line. Not all techniques require a 40 plus yard cast. I use my Tatula SVs for weightless plastics and casting too far will negatively effect hooksets.
  4. Ima give that’s a try.
  5. 3/0 Gamakatsu Finesse Wide Gap. NO WEEDGUARD!!!
  6. The water better be clear with no floating particles or grass because they will roll if anything gets caught in between the blade.
  7. Link to the electro fishing survey?
  8. Never fished Monroe, but I heard it’s tough. They call it the Dead Sea.
  9. Raccoon Lake in Rockville, IN never fails to show me how terrible of a fisherman I am.
  10. Straight shank/ flipping hooks. Preferrebly the Gamakatsu Heavy Duty Worm Hook. Sometimes I will use offset round bends but I hate EWGs.
  11. Right! Just happy to be out there.
  12. That medium heavy rod was pointless in my opinion. I have used it for frogs, jigs, Carolina Rigs, and have thrown big topwaters on it.
  13. If you are going to get an avid x get the 7’4” heavy rod instead of the 7’4 medium heavy. The heavy rod has a wider lure range.
  14. That’s a steal. You should share your researching techniques if you don’t mind.
  15. I try to avoid the middle if I can but with 3 people someone has to do it. It irks me but us non boaters have to go with the flow and adapt.
  16. I got mine for $130 off Ebay.
  17. It works great. The extra fast tip is second to none. I personally like medium heavy rods for senkos.
  18. U might laugh but i use it for senkos.
  19. I only have one and that is the TBC71MHXF and I love. It’s recommend use is swim jigs but I use it for something totally different.
  20. I had a broken rod tube from the last rod I bought. The tube was was broken a little under half way. My rod came out unscathed and I think what really saved it was the rod having a composite blank. If it was graphite it probably would of broke. My bad shipment came from UPS.
  21. I got 2 graphite Lew’s casting reels. Fished them for 2 years and they are still holding strong. I highly doubt they will fail. Everything’s big else I own is aluminum which I prefer.
  22. I have an LTB and a Mojo. LTBs run $260 and and Mojos run between $130 and $150. I could get 2 mojos for the price of one LTB. I would recommend 3 Mojos instead now that they have upgraded them to SCIII graphite which is a step below the LTB.
  23. I know a lot of people on her feel like after year anything that happens is on the owner. I just refuse to buy a rod over 100 without at least a 5 year warranty.
