  1. 50lb braid is usually the around the equivalent of 12 pound test
  2. Might as well get the Fuego if ur gonna buy one of these.
  3. I finally got to hold some Dobyn’s Champion casting rods in hand. They felt really good in hand and seemed to be of great quality. They had some of their crankbait rods but they were the graphite versions. I’m curious to know if the glass crankbait rods that they offer are full out glass or composite?
  4. I learned that my 3 favorite reel manufacturers are: 1. Daiwa 2. Daiwa 3. Daiwa
  5. Ive read that largemouth bass school with stripers on blueback herrings lakes.
  6. P.O. Pluggers (Facebook link below) https://m.facebook.com/groups/954930567926266
  7. I had some wind behind me and I was bombing some traps a good 60 yards. Missed 2 fish that hit the lure as soon as it hit the water. Distance definitely has effect on hookset.
  8. This has “Tall Tale” written all over it lol
  9. Good God almighty! I didn’t know they got that big here. Must be southern Indiana because the people in my area never seem to have photo evidence or a scale. Nice catches! 65 our of 752 is a great finish. U should be proud of yourself. Keep up the good work.
  10. I need the scoop on Brookville Lake. I heard it’s predominantly small mouth. What has worked well for anyone that has fished it? I’m thinking drop shot and Jerkbait..... any suggestions would be great
  11. Lew’s IM 8 rods hold up very well. I agree with what others have said. No need to pay more than 100 for graphite reels. I like Lew’s but there are way better $200 combos u could put together with aluminum reels.
  12. I try not to go over $200 on reels. I casting reels from most Daiwa, but also Shimano, Lews, and Abu. None of my casting reels exceed $200. I exceeded $200 for the first time when I bought my first bass specific spinning reel which Daiwa Ballistic LT which was $229. I have rods ranging from $40 to $260. I would probably spend more money on the right rod.
  13. I don’t have the Tatula LT but I do have the Ballistic LT which is worse very similar I’d suppose. It’s very smooth and light.
  14. The hooks on ploppers are pretty good. No need to replace them out of the box.
  15. I finally added my first spinning set up to my bass arsenal. I got a Daiwa Ballistic LT and put 15lb green braid on it. I have never failed a vision test in my life and I have never had problems seeing braided line in the 30-50lb range on my baitcasters. I couldn’t even see the line during my casts with the 15lb braid. I know a lot of guys on here use high vis colors to see line better but do high vis colors really make much of a difference when using small diameter lines like 10 and 15lb braid?
  16. Did you buy used or new? I haven’t had problem with eBay as far as buying reels and shoes. It’s important to check seller reviews and the volume at which they sell. I heard eBay is pretty good about disputes and getting refunds.
  17. Interesting, who makes pink braid? I want to give it a try.
  18. Yes, spooks, whopper ploppers, and pompadours
  19. Would the 7’5” model work well for big topwaters with treble hooks?
  20. The Cabela’s Rod is on sale for 79.99 right now
  21. I use the crankbait specific snaps that VMC makes. It allows me to swap them out quicker. No issues so far.
  22. I bought one reel off eBay and it was Daiwa Tatula SV. No issues at all, I will continue to buy my reels off eBay but I wouldn’t buy a rod off eBay.
  23. I can’t fish finesse worms to save my life but my partner does well with em.
  24. I would say 30% is bought on line. I buy more online during the off-season but when I need something ASAP I got Gander or Cabela’s since my Walmart is as cool as most the guys on here.
