    15# pound 8 carrier braid with 10# FC leader. I prefer high vis braid when getting to smart pound test because it can be hard to see on a long cast.

    For me I would go with Dobyns because I prefer composite rods (Champion Series) for cranking. To the best of my knowledge St Croix’s cranking rods are either graphite or fiberglass.

    I have multiple CT Type Rs and SVs. I have held the 100 in hand at the store and even thought is light I feel like the components are downgraded cheaper.

    Just cosmetics, it’s also a cheap rod so I wouldn’t expect high end quality.

    I like to snell my hooks and use a 5/16 weight and up.

    Yo Zuri Top Knot, I’m big on line diameter and I honestly can’t tell the difference from Sunline Sniper except the price.
