  1. If the fish have moved deep I normally scan humps and points and ledges for bait , If they don't have bait I don't fish em
  2. When the water is clear my crawfish are green pumpkin when it's stained they are black and blue, It's got to be the colors of them at that time because that's what color jigs they eat.
  3. I do know one thing for a fact , you can't reel a bait fast enuff to get it away from one who want's it . Found that out trolling redfins for stripers in 46 degree water and caught more bass than stripers.
  4. I fished Great Creek watershed today, I caught 5 , the deepest was about 2 foot.
  5. Natural colors in clear and dark in stained. Big baits in stained and small baits in clear.
  6. Looking for some info on fishing for smallmouth and Roanoke bass in the Purdy and Jarratt area.. Like what's the best water level and if this area is any good in the fall? Thank's
  7. It's great in the spring . But it's the best in June when the big ones have spawned and catch them on topwater. The tailrace behind the dam holds some good ones year round but it's best to fish from the bank. It's impossible to fish rite now though, you have 22,000 cfs going though a 50yrd gap.
  8. I have been fishing for about 35 years. Fished tournaments through the late 80's and 90's. Raised kids through the late 90's and 2000's just fished for fun to expensive for tournaments. Mostly kayak fish now and love it. Like fishing small lakes and river's.
  9. I'm new to this sight but not new to fishing. I kayak fish as well and for the areas I fish I can get by with 3, one for a jig , one for a spinnerbait, and one for a trap.
  10. I'm new to this forum but I fish Briery some , I live about 1.5 hour away . I was thinking about riding down to fish tomorrow , I don't want a fishing report, just wondering if the water is muddy and high? Thank's Sam
