  1. Sadly, this may be the last one for a while. ?
  2. If you follow the wind, points and obvious rock piles you’ll be fine. Docks are always good!
  3. It’s VERY deep and gets so fast. It’s a big oval and a recreational boaters dream, so be careful on the weekend. The shoreline is your friend. There are big bass and you should be out there early and late. Afternoon fish the shady bank. Good luck
  4. All the methods above work and I will add the shallow jerk bait. Don't rule out a reaction bite
  5. Jim, I think stability on the water trumps the weight issue. That said, the larger also give you options for the unanticipated.
  6. It's funny how kids react to watching you catch a fish. This morning when my son asked my grandson what he wanted for breakfast, the reply was "crank?"
  7. ........Earlier this year, a coworker asked if I could take he and his son out. His email started with "AL, do you think you could take me and xxxxx out on May 17th, we are free from 7:00 to 9:15 ish" ?
  8. Have yet to pull mine out this year.....just haven't had the patients and never really put in that situation. Will HAVE to start as my only technique next month ?
  9. It's funny you say that.......it has been really windy lately and wind doesn't effect fish in my lake as it does in others. I use spotlock a lot and love being able to be on the back of the boat when nessessary
  10. Fish on a rat.....doesn't get numbers, but better than average size
  11. Timely thread.... This afternoon, taking the grandson, his kiddy rod, bobber and crawlers to a place know for Sunnys. Big crawlers can be had at every market in the area. No more digging for me
  12. Don't have any first hand experience with Suzuki, but they are almost non existent in my neck of the woods and I know the appeal is its price point
  13. Not to ticked in your cornflakes, but if you really want to include family into the equation as I did, the Impact got my call. I have has 2 year olds to 75 year olds and don't think I would have been confident in a pro v
  14. I have the Berkeley station but can have it spooled with a pen before I pull out the station
  15. Given how many people trash companies when things are wrong, it's good to see them get praise when praise is do
  16. 832 is fine If you are looking for 4 strand, look to Gamma Fins also puts out a great product
  17. Sometimes just being along is rewarding enough. I also find that when alone my I fish different. I stop for a coffee, hit spots many don't consider, and don't feel like I have to put people on fish. I can target larger ones and today was a great example. Compared to what many post, these are minnows, but 4 that were between 3.2 and 4.1 is a great day.
  18. I stay with 3 colors Black, white, silver and styles similar to the pop max, because I also like to walk the dog and they tend to be a bit more versatile. BPS has cheaper ones that are on the same note. Lovino also has some great ones......don't go overboard, keep it simple. A couple 1/4's and a few 1/2 ounce and your good. Got 2 4 lbers this AM
  19. Yup, late at night or pre-dawn. I would also go for reaction bites Jerks, Poppers, WP, ect
  20. Great catch and thanks for not "long-arming " it......
  21. Marinas on my lake advertise that they pretreat their gas with start on or similar product. I guess that is how they justify 4.00/gal gas. ?
  22. I was lucky enough to take a ride in an off-shore racer. There was the guy at the wheel, the throttler and myself. Getting a boat to plane safely and consistenly, can make an Eskimo perspire. When the guys have it dialed in it seams like there is more motor than boat in the water. The throttle man biggest challenge is to stop the prop from over-reaving when the prop is out of the water in bigger seas. He did say that not catching it causes more high-speed accidents than people know and does apply to the recreational boater........
  23. It only takes a few times to figure out how to position your boat in the wind..it will change as the wind does, but is predictable
  24. My Honda has the same small one in the engine, but I added the big one on the advice of my mechanic
