  1. While it is hard to beat the Flat Max Scent, I have a lot of luck with a weedless 4 inch GY senko on a NEKO or 1/0 round bend.
  2. I fish on "Golden Pond" if you remember the movie ? ......there has to be 20 wooden vintage wood direct drive boats that won't idle down and one hell of a wake. Not once have I seen one pulled over in the channel and they can not be manovered under 5 MPH or headway speed.
  3. Simms and Orvis are great substitute albeit at a premium price. Columbia is also an option at a more reasonable price, but like others will note.....hooded cooling shirts have taken over
  4. Love the 45 It isn't outstanding in any one area, but very good in most. I have small hands and many large frames guns are thought, but the HK is very user friendly. The double /sigle works well as advertised.
  5. On a positive note, the US women have come a long way in a decade! I believe it is from an active investment and the good parts of Title Nine ( equity in college sports). ......that said, it is not a complete endorsement of 9, just the observation that $,focus, harder work and opportunity can yield results.
  6. Round Bend ( O Shaunessey if possible) unless a EWG is required because of bait selection. I do like some ewg for some short trebbles
  7. Love mine and it is only 15.00 over budget https://www.alphaangler.com/collections/bait-casting-rods/products/clutch-power-finesse
  8. I really like these.....gives me tons of options https://www.ownerhooks.com/product/twistlock-light/ Not a true DS hook, but tried it a couple years ago with a BC and got my PB
  9. VMC finesse Neko hook has been the best I have found
  10. I have literally used it for almost everything with the exception of frogs and punching. I have also used it as a spinning substitute for NEKO and weighted wacky.
  11. I tend to go bigger when I am over deeper water or off sure further. I usually go with a pop-max since I can also retrieve it like a larger stick bait. It it just more versatile for me.
  12. Viewership of the Olympics is at an all time low. Major sponsors have pulled out and ratings are in the tank. Media consultants are saying it is largely because of politics, wokeness and an anti-american sentiments from American athletes. While the last part of that is in the minority, they are getting the majority of the publicity. The fact that a large group of Americans are happy that ladies soccer was eliminated tells the tale. The same sentiments are being shared for the NBA. I will try to find and will post the links......
  13. we are on week 3....
  14. When you are told there is a LITTLE water damage, that can be fixed in a day ???
  15. ^^^^^this. The only time I have an issue is if the weight is on one side of log or rock and the bait on the other. That feeling always has me swinging for the fences? and I get some great hook sets on intimate objects
  16. You sound like me...... 5x

    1911

I like most grunts have a warm spot for the 1911. Last year I was on the hunt for one and it feels like I shot everyone known to man ? Truth be told, nothing felt as good as my issued one from years ago. There was just something in the looseness and feel worked. This fall I will be looking to replace my old friend ?
  18. What I meant is that 8 feet of leader doesn't really add a "cushion". At that point the rod and drag play a more important part
  19. Not sure I would want to be using it with a connection knot. Of course you can use it, just think there are better options. Not sure the leader will be long enough to be felt.. You may want to look at this https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Sunline_Shooter_Defier_Armilo_Nylon_Line/descpage-SDAR.html
  20. I have both and there isn't a wrong decision. I really enjoy the versatility and performance of the DC in the wind and with baits that catch the wind. The MGL does better with shorter cast that require pin point accuracy. My son doesn't fish as much as and he uses the DC exclusively! Since you are looking at the top shelf, you may want to loom at JDM conquest calcutta 100. The older I get the less I look for maximum distance, so my opinions are bast of feel, performance,
  21. This type of thing just isn't worth getting worked up about, since I can OK ly control my own actions. What does rub me the wrong way is setting up 30 yards from me. Earlier this Spring I was in a new pond and and found a sweet spot. 30 minutes later a you guy jumps in and starts fishing 30 yards from me. That afternoon I was not in the mood......and my wife was in the boat. She talked me off the cliff, but I did tie on a 3/4 ounce bullet weight and threw it across his bow. He got the hint and left. .....This is the only time something lime this has happened
