While I see the insurance nessessary.......many don’t get the “environmental coverage “ benefit. It is the coverage that pays for gas, oil, etc spills. The smallest of spill can cost 500K and the boater is responsible. I think I pay 35.00 a year for this rider. US Boaters can answer questions on this topic

Like you I have modified my anchor line with loops to accommodate caribeners and keep another 50 foot length of rope just because. I also carry a waterski bridle to attach to the tow boat in the event they don't have a pylon.
I fish a local trail in a Lund Impact and I did feel out of place for about 10 minutes at the first tournament. I don't think anyone really cares and if they do so, screw them!
Guys on my lake troll for trout and salmon, often at 50 feet.
They are always catching SMB on the turns when the bait slows down and drops a bit

Deep for me is 30 feet. For a friend it is 50. I have never caught a LM deeper than 25, but I am predominantly in SM water.
My comfort zone is 20 and below, but am going to target deeper ones next year
Make sure you are shutting off the unit at the unit and not just cutting off power at the console. These behave more like our laptops and processing speed can be an issue

All my coaches and I wear bibs. They are warmers and easier to layer under. Loose and layers are your friend and stopping drafts around your core is key. Belts are also restrictive when you 3 layers deep.
