  1. I never leave the boat without some type of water-shoe as tetanus shots and stitches in the feet suck! I can honestly say that in the last few years I have witnessed more pollution from non boating fisherman and pleasure crafts, than I have boat fisherman. One growing concern that is gaining traction is the use of soft plastics. More and more articles are being written with graphic pics of dead fish with bellies full of worms and it is getting the attention of lawmakers.
  2. Could you get away with a Med, yes. The Med would be more versatile and do more. My fishing partner went through the same thing and now only has 1 ML in his quiver
  3. This is the time of year where the used market gets strong ..Chronarch MGL comes to mind
  4. At that price range the OK wins. I would wait and stretch the budget a bit and expand your options. You can still find used Chronarch MGL’s for a few dollars more
  5. No chance at this time of the year.
  6. I have my dads Mitchell and it stays in my office. Someday I hope my son does the same for for one of my Met MGL and i hope my grandson is still throwing my Calcutta Conquest cause I think the that’s the only one that might stand the test of time
  7. Wacky weedless hooks......I like owners
  8. You can look a CB specific rods or go with a more universal rod. A good example would be a GLX MBR as it handles many things well
  9. A light wire, 1/4 ounce jig with weed guards get me thru some nasty stuff and the little weight allows me to fish a bit faster
  10. 10 pound 832 on Med spinning gear and have never had a break off
  11. I have and like it for times I like a fluke. Have also added a small swivel a couple feet up the hook and it’s just enough to change the action. Often gets hit on the pauses since it usually is falling
  12. We all need gas money.....
  13. Stay with ci4 and give it to your kids when you retire, because that's how long it will last
  14. The varying rules bothered me, so I just called the head of NH Marine Patrol. He said it is one of the most misunderstood issue he sees and admits many of his subordinates don't understand it. He said it is because it has changes 3 times over the last couple years. The bottom line is that they do not distinguish between pull cord and self inflating so they consider all to be pull cord, thus making it legal if worn. It does not count if not worn since a pull cord won't float if not activated. Lessen learned!
  15. ..............timely post! This is also the time of year that when fishing alone, I don't take off my PFD when fishing and drop may ladder when trolling. Those without ladders should also practice up on how to get back in the boat before hyperthermia sets in.....
  16. I have 6 holsters and my sticky is the most comfortable and easy to reposition....and holds like crazy...highly recommend
  17. Laws differ from state to state. The top enforcement officers on my lake in NH for Marine Patrol and Fish and Game were the same mustang as mine and said an additional is not required in NH if I am not wearing one. They both also told be that even if it was, the fact that it is on the back of my seat would be good enough. Truth be told, we all have the orange cheapo. It makes for a good protector for my back-up prop ?
  18. Years ago I tried to to go IWB but never felt comfortable. Ended going boot/ankle carry. Given the amount of slim single stacks that felt better on my hip, it just made sense
  19. Didn't know we were 1024th Indian ???
  20. Nice catch! Thanks for sharing
  21. No disrespect intended...thought you were looking for a knot for the BC.......
  22. Braid with leaders cover most of the needs. If you don’t trust a know on you BC, it’s operator error ?. A uni-uni works well and is easy to tie and may be the only knot you need to know. For micro guides, I like the PR.
  23. I use a mustang and if your looking for a comfortable traditional for your wife, look at waterski vest. They are much more comfortable
  24. Heck, sitting in the boat on the dock retying knows bring a smile to my face
  25. I have the FMJ and really like it. It is a little heavier than others but well balanced. I have an Alpha Hitter on the way and have high hopes.
