Most if not all power plants MUST have discharge temperatures back to intake temperatures within a couple hundred yards of the plant.
While the fishing is usually very good because it also attracts bait fish, it doesn't nessessarily mean all are going to be good spawning grounds.
I have seen spray foam that expands used to displace water in more than a few instances. The downside is that it can be expensive. Make an insulation guy your friend?
The correct call given the rules, I just wish the rules were different. I see a smart jockey winning a race. I also see this as selective enforcement as it is seldom called and very inconsistent
Like @TOXIC said, to many variables to explain the break, but it is the exception, not the rule. Over the last couple years, we have seen more high end rods with tip breakage (MB)
If I were fishing for $$$ GY would get the call. It's a confidence thing.
There are also a lot of smaller guys pouring and they make some great products that rival the performance of GY that are a bit more durable.
Can't speak to all, but the jerkbait special is exceptional and I have it paired with a Chronarch and Met MGL.....It is also good for flatsides, light topwaters and most treble hook presentations
I was 100% braid, or braid to leader guy.
Today, I have some Defier and Tatsu for a few applications.
......While Tatsu will have you pucker at first, it is far superior to the rest of FC, but is doesn't like to be kinked. I do back it and only keep 75 yards on a spool
For those size baits, I use a M or MH, fast or moderate rod depending on the company. I also went to sunline Defier Armilo and my landing percentage has gone up.....I like the MBR flex and works well with treble hooks too
If it was free, I might download it for sh*ts and giggles, but would not give up a cup of coffee for it. Heck, I don't think there is consensus on this board on whether moon phase effects fish.
We all have our stories, but suspect given the time we spend on the water, they're minimal. There is no reason to believe that fishermen/boaters aren't representative of the times we live in.
Megabass JB's are about as high as I go, and I am OK with that.
It still amazes me on the price of some of the larger swimbaits.....glad I have never had great luck with them ?
I am on a relatively small body of water and while the main window for SM spawn are the weeks around memorial day, I have seen it go on in some areas into July. Different ares of the lake definitely go before others and the shallow warmer areas go first. Got to love nature and as soon as you figure it out, your wrong
