  1. If you need to tie a leader and alberto is big, go to the PR. It requires a tool, but unlike the off shore techniques, it only requires an inch of wraps. When I have time, I use it. On the water it's FG. The key to both is to mushroom the tag end of the FC or mono. Berkley make a hot wire that makes it much easier than a match......Take a breath, it gets easier
  2. Braid to Armillo for me in that situation.braid will cut weeks and give you better distance from shore. Truth be told, I am using more Armillo and less FC
  3. I through some frogs on an Alpha Zilla with a Bantam is it balances well. You will be happy!
  4. I have a few MB and can say with certainty that there are more sensitive, and better balanced rods at the top end. While the Conquest are slightly more, I don't know anyone who paid retail. I look for an excuse to use mine.
  5. 100 HG is 30.3 IPT and easy palmable
  6. Check IPT and go with longer handles.
  7. In this case Google is your friend
  8. Get a conquest and call it a day. Absolutely love mine! It puts the the others you mentioned to shame
  9. I compliment them on taking action, but I have never seen a rod company with such a reputation for breakage.
  10. Loomis MBR'S,.....look no further. And I didn't have to mock you?
  11. Another slow day for numbers, but my partner managed to get the 5.4 on a foul-hooked popper in a foot of water. The rest of hit were 3lb LM. Where the heck did the SM go? You would never know this lake was know for it SM quality by what we caught in the last month.
  12. I own them all and the Bantam is on the frog rod. Easy decision!
  13. I stand corrected...
  14. I am just one lake over in Squam. Plastics and jigs have been getting it done for weeks and heat is still in the forecast. Neco was the bait of choice at last Sunday's tournament . Don't look for the hole in the donut ?
  15. @A-Jay Thanks for going the extra mile. I would like to have this pinned for future reading.....That said, you always cost me $$$$ ?
  16. A short outing before the heat kicks in. Time to start night fishing.
  17. Fishing after a small lake the day after a tournament is always challenging for me, especially with water Temps near 80. Today I was just happy to get a few 3 pounders.
  18. If there is zero wind, it can have problems with over compensating, then disengage.
  19. Heck, I have dove for a crank bait in 9 feet of water???
  20. Until you get it, freeze a Pepsi bottle and an ounce of hydrogen peroxide
  21. I don’t give as much thought for braid on a spinning set-up as I do on bait casters. 10 pound is the norm for me and I have gone from low vis to high vis. Gamma holds color very well. 832 will fade slightly but lays down well. Smack down is awesome and PP is available everywhere.
  22. Why is it a “fire truck” if it carries water?
  23. When fun fishing, I let the little ones go airborne. It’s more exciting than landing them......With larger ones, I sweep low and crank like hell. I do believe that a reel with more IPT helps move the head better
  24. Never to soon.....
  25. Never thought I would be saying this.... Early season, Jerks only Since post spawn the Neco and Ned has put the biggest fish in the boat
