  1. The slower I fish, the better results I have. At one point I swear the fish could pick up on my energy If I am running it is only to scan spots I may want to come back to or conditions dictate ?
  2. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Berkley_Hot_Line_Cutter/descpage-BHLC.html it also works to mushroom the tag end of FC when tying the FG knot
  3. Drop-shotting 30 FOW yields more than Bass!
  4. Dedicated the morning to deep DS (40-50 FOW) and put 12 in the boat, 6 being within a couple ounces +/- of 3lbs. While I am late to the DS party, I am now a believer.
  5. Add me to the Mustang train. Friends on the N.H. Marine Patrol also said they perform VERY well
  6. The problem with using nails is that they are far longer than tungsten of the same weight effecting the action of the worm
  7. ^^^^^this. Buy an aluminum for emergencies
  8. 6'10"-7'2" is the sweet spot for me. I also have to factor weight as wrist pain and previous surgeries, make longer rods hard to deal with. I love my 7'6' Conquest but it just hurts after prolonged usage.
  9. Consider looking used. The classified section always has great options. I picked up several conquest for 50% off
  10. @A-Jay, thanks! Thats what I was looking for!
  11. Gent's the DS has always been my technique of last resort until recently. I have seen the light. I have been using a GLX 882S DSR paired with a ci4 1000 for DS and Ned. My questions is for those that do it a lot......How many rods and for what. I am already looking at a deeper water set-up for heavier weights? Does anyone use a 2 power BC for heavier deeper fishing? I know this is open ended and videos on this tend to go in all directions. Appreciate your time, Al
  12. Sorry......I scrolled right to the pictures? ”winning”!
  13. Let it go! I know it is easier said than done, but it isn’t worth it.
  14. I am surrounded with friends and close family members in similar situations. There is no substitute for professional help, but I can tell you that those closest to me have shut off social media, and started to walk and workout. Exercise is a great way of feeling better but it does require you taking the first step. “Don’t let the demons win”
  15. Finally got something that was photo worthy. I have thrown a DS a total of 3 times in my life. Think I will go to it more often ?
  16. Conquest Calcutta’s all day long
  17. 20 FOW seems to be the sweet spot with only a few exceptions. Surface water temp is 78 I think the thermocline is around 20-25 FOW
  18. I don't think any disrespect is intended. The OP has Mets so he must understand any price difference. He also asked for a reel that compares to it and I am not aware of one.
  19. Some of my best days are low in productivity but high in knowledge. Try explaining that to someone who get disappointed when they dont have a fish in the boat in the first 30 minutes
  20. The only things you will accomplish is a renewed love for the Shimano and a lighter wallet.
  21. I would take a hard look at the Renegade....A lot of boat for the $$$$$........and while they have only been out a few year, the resale is strong!
  22. Thanks Ajay, you just confirmed everything I was reading.
  23. Folks, I want to really focus on the 3 and 4 inch keitecks and want to know what jig heads you like best. Thanks for any input, Al
  24. I know @A-Jay has had some nice ones done, you may want to reach out
